If defensive have a shorter cooldown than offensive that mean there’s a problem. Let me list some :
Dark pact
Blur
Anti Magic shell
Alter time
Evasion (Outlaw)
Greater fade
Divine ascension
These spells need a increased cooldown, some people say “yea but they are weak” : No, a cooldown defensive are defensive.
When you can see some design of some spec being totally countered because they have a defensive on every of your go that’s not normal.
You can almost spot holy priest and outlaw rogue even when they set badly control on your burst they are still able to find way to totally counter every go.
I don’t know you but if there’s a 1mn defensive spell that exist they have to be nerfed to at least 1.3 - 1.5 cooldown and buffed in effect
frequent defensive ruin the fun of the game, imagine if paladin had 1 minute divine shield because " yea it can be mass dispelled" …
Putting Greater Fade in the same list as these abilities is hilarious ngl. Those other abilities allow you to continue to be offensive during your defensive whereas if I press 1 offensive ability during Fade it cancels, (and lasts 3 seconds).
Do you think it is normal versus a warrior to greater fade every kyrian spear and divine ascension every burst when you still have Guardian angel and a stun and a Mind control and then being able to free cast and then have a trinket N
Nah i think there’s large enought tool to counter two offensive split.
So Greater Fade being able to outplay Kyrian Spear is your justification for nerfing it? How about we nerf Feign Death some more as well then since you can Feign every spear? Meanwhile all the other defensives you listed are vastly superior generally speaking.
If an SP/Holy Priest is being trained by a Warrior and they get MC’d on their offensive go then they are bad and/or have been completely outplayed.
We have to go through reflect - kick - bolt (if talented) - bladestorm and in the absolute miraculous event that they do get MC’d, there’s the option of trinketing, too! The whole time we are tanking damage in this time spent casting. Nonsensical point.
Spear of Bastion is a ultra toxic ability which shouldn’t exist when warrior can charge you anytime due to perma recklessness. Not saying that greater fade is a healthy ability either but still miles ahead of a brainless ability like spear where you just press it and reck and pve down your target with a 2 button rotation.
It was a dumb ability even before fury got as it is now. Basically you either had to deal with unkiteable warrior when they were necrolord or with this ridiculous pin down spear thing. Not to mention that some classes have no real answer to it.
and yet greater fade is the ability that is gone from dragonfail
i thi k more def cds are fun because if everyone always die in 10 seconds, i sepnd more time dead than playing.
some classes also have longer ramp time while others can burst from the get go, so very short games favor them.
This can be fixed by nerfing overall and especially instant healing so you don’t have things like holy priests topping someone from 1 to 100% in one second the moment they get out of cc
And? I hope you know (of course you don’t because you don’t even play arenas) but SP’s nowadays are only playing Greater Fade vs things like Fury Warrs and WW’s because the other talents are just better.
