Yeah but azeroth races go there after their dead right? Still i met only kyrians so far…
If you look in the inn and the small hub buildings in the initial area you will see pandaren, tauren and human spirits sitting down in places. There’s probably more as well. Warbrave Oro (Highmountain Tauren who gets killed by petrification when doing the Dargul the Underking questline in Highmountain) is sitting by a pool of water in one of the earlier hubs next to another tauren. Questline in the temple of purity reveals the Kyrian the QL is focused on was a tauren in their past life.
They are there, people just need to open their eyes. Yes, living ones aren’t there, but this is the land of the dead, so expecting that is a bit bizarre.
Green, not gray, no? Gray is more than 10 level difference.
No from what i understand you need this for lvl 60 stuff…
It’s not the first time we’re not in Azeroth.
It’s the first time it feels so disconnected.
In all honesty I never saw this disconnection your on about.
My characters quite litterally logged out next to Ysera
It’s about time main story was more relevant to end game stuff in all honesty.
What your arguing is severely opinonated, and a process that takes 4-7 hours isn’t a major amount of enforced content.
Some enjoy this others won’t and not every expansion theme will click with every player. It’s just the way it is… I happen to think SL is prolly one of the better expansions level wise.
MoP levelling I absolutely detested. (I did enjoy mop tho before someone dives on me about greatness lol)
Why I had multiple issues with leveling, you described none of them, instead did the self insert.
There were several azeroth ghosts in the maw. And people who arrive in bastion BECOME kyrians or just move on so you wouldnt see any azeroth races in theory. Very early on tho you are shown that there should be azeroth ghosts everywhere but due to the drought they are not there. But i guess you ig ored that
YMMV obvs, but here’s my take:
-
Yep, definitely agree on this but don’t really blame blizz. The changes to levelling are amazing, but I went and levelled about 8 million alts and am now feeling very levelled out. Normally a new expansion means a return to levelling.
-
I didn’t watch any streams or videos, so this is all new to me
-
Yeah, at least give us a choice of starting zone or something. I guess they realised no one would pick Bastion if they did that idk.
-
I don’t mind the way questing is generally. Quite like it usually.
-
Didn’t notice this
-
Yeah, feels like we’re a long way from home. Probably intentional but it feels odd.
-
Fully agree. It’s such a beige, boring zone. I’m told it gets better when you leave Bastion, but right now I’m 3/7 and losing the will to do anymore.
-
Not noticed it feel too slow
-
Yep, I’m not well geared at all and I’m still wearing a lot of what I started in. Couldn’t wait to swap that necklace out though, so took a stat drop to do that.
-
Nah, I really enjoy levelling. I think they cracked it in WoD and Legion but this feels like MoP/Cata again. Bastion is the new Uldum.
Let me rephrase that then.
Draenor and Outland were on the physical plane of existence - the plane of the living.
The Shadowlands is not.
It will be different as a result. It services the universe Azeroth is located in and universes beyond that. It exists outside of time physical laws. We can not say the same about Argus, Draenor and Outland.
Those worlds also had the benefit of “familiar wow race x” coming from them, the SL doesn’t have that tether. I don’t think that’s a fair reason to criticise it.
Also as shown with my post above, there are nods to azeroth present in the zones. The trouble is most people aren’t paying attention to them and miss them. Take your time to actually immerse yourself in the zone and be open to it and you may actually see these things that link to Azeroth. They just don’t slap you in the face, but they are there. That seems fair to me given Azeroth is “one of many” in this regard.
Guys i 100 agree its my opinion no need to reply to every point “your opinion” its obvious.
Also im glad you like it…it just i never focused on story in wow so thats why we have this situation since its all about story now…
Yeah, no, sorry. No matter how you try and rationalize it, all I can see is: we’re out of ideas, let’s recycle Diablo stuff.
You posted a bullet point list backing up your opinion. What did you expect people to reply with?

Postponing release and prepatch +xp event mean lot of people (like me) spend last month exping alts and now exping again? Seems like fun
Totally your thing. I haven’t leveled anything since 8.2 so I’m happy to level some stuff up.
Other 9 reasons are your opinion, so power to you and sucks if you hate leveling so much I guess.
Story is decent, cinematics are top notch, quests don’t drag and there’s an alternate way to level if you want to do that one.

Yeah, no, sorry. No matter how you try and rationalize it, all I can see is: we’re out of ideas, let’s recycle Diablo stuff.
And all i can see here is criticizing for the sake of it.

Not noticed it feel too slow
Its not that leveling is slow but im 3 hours into expansion and it still feels as tutorial.

- Postponing release and prepatch +xp event mean lot of people (like me) spend last month exping alts and now exping again? Seems like fun
- You already watched streams or videos from SL so its not as fresh as it should be
These are subjective sabotages imo. Yeah delay really messed lots of things up, but SL questing is something new and it feels different then overprinted questing.

Its linear you have 0 another options How to reach lvl 60 then classic questing
Its been like this from get go.

its trying to feel like singleplayer game(mistake imo)
On this I’m with you. No group activities suck the soul out of game.
.

Zones and theme feel disconnected from azeroth idk
As it should be? And best thing we could get for a change. … … personally.

Bastion is so generic and boring, it was a mistake to put it at first i think other zones looks better and more fresh…
It was really cool looking, but the quests were bit meh, it feels a pure Paladin vibe… shudders

lvl 53 and still at bastion and its not like i have bastion completed i just started and clear first area. 75% of bastion map unexplored
I had same thought, I’m almost 60 but freshly arrived in Ravendreth but for sake of experience I will go through it. Also you don’t seem to explore zones completely with questing , I assume rest is for later content.

Rewards from quests are useless 80ilvl when people have 100+
Questing of new expansions isn’t done for people who maxed out on previous expansion but rather ones who transition from BFA questing to SL questing. Such was my dudu and it felt alright. Thats nothing new.

Leveling became tutorial to the game everybody want to lvl 60 as fast as possible and real gameplay begins after leveling
Subjective - I enjoyed it myself and want to do it on alts as well.
Removing something to get to instant dopamine Farm won’t fix the situation because over time that domapine income will pale and then someone will demand to remove some other feature to have easier access to their dopamine mine.

You posted a bullet point list backing up your opinion. What did you expect people to reply with?
Obviously poeple reply with their opinion it just feel weird to wrote 1. Your opinion 2. Your opinion 3. Your opinion …just reply only when you have something to add to discussion…

Other 9 reasons are your opinion, so power to you and sucks if you hate leveling so much I guess.
Exactly but we can have discussion here about somethin else then lbgtq right?

It’s not, im having a blast leveling, every zone is amazing, so is the storytelling.
They say gnomes are an incredibly smart species, and I’m inclined to agree.
After squish everything that needed 10 levels difference need 5 levels now i believe
