Some of those items are tokens, so you don’t just get plate healing gear as a drop and feel sad about deleting it.

RNG is the classic feeling, i guess. albeit the part we all hated about it. but atleast, then, we had 6-12 months to rerun the raids and finally get the rng to get geared.
10 players/6 bosses - 110 loots.
u can get 8 upgrades.
someone better at math than me, can calculate the likelyhood of getting full BiS in 8 weeks on all 10 ppl.

And the hardest part is getting a fixed roster to loot 100% of ids.
But yes, based on my experience with BDF and seeing as Gnom will be worse, i am not counting on it for upgrades and will instead focus on STV event, arathi gear and updated dungeon gear. Because of that i will have to switch main from my warlock to my feral as gearing outside of raiding is possible.
yea…im so glad i have shadowmeld on my (then) surv hunter. will be useful for ambushing and perma-cc ppl.
it will indeed. i have done every reset of bfd but 1, and still dont have that xbow. just doesnt drop.
Phase 2 should be at least 12 weeks long.
So you have 2 ids in the first two weeks and then 20 afterwards so you have 22 tries for full bis.
devs said 8-10 weeks, but assuming ure correct, thats still very very bad.
end boss epic 1h melee weapon drops, 5% chance. there are 5 melee users in the grp - 2 warriors, 1 shammy/retri, 1 hunter, 1 rogue.
22 resets, 5% chance of a drop means ON AVERAGE it drops once. and u have 20% chance to win it. or 1.2% chance to get one, before p3. (very rough math done in head while writing)

Well for the meeles there are the stv pvp weapon who are better or as good.
not that ive seen, but i havnt seen everything - most players think 10 is too long for p1 so i doubt they will push it to 12, based on feedback.
for some, yea. hunters dont get melee in stv at all. we will need the fistweapons in gnomer to get gud. the 1,8 speed melee ONLY bow with 50 strength proc, is it. a statitem only, for meleehunters.
Yes Hunter need the two fist weapons from the raid as bis if they want to do meele.

hard to give a short reply.
items in pve raid and pvp rewards have alot of + strength on them,and leatheroptions have the same problem. that takes the place of + agility, so a net loss of agility for ranged hunters. about 30% loss, infact.
the runes for ranged are 2. expose weakness and steady shot - they share a slot.
the melee runes are incredibly good. melee sepcialist + dualweilder make raptorstrike enormous. with flanking on top, its huge. u will never leave melee to weave a ranged attack, as the time lost to running is dps lost.
a BM spec with 7 in surv to get +20% crit on raptor is the meta. the only pve build that will be viable.1 viable spec for the class, and its melee…hurts.
theranged hunter is stuck with chimera, sting and multishot like p1. aimed shot is outscaled by the general dps increase of everything else with its flat + dmg design.
ranged hunter (MM) that wants to play ranged, cant. its not viable compared to other specs, and pve dps in general.
u can ofc do it, if u want to play as a meme. and that is just heartbreaking for the one, single ranged phys choice in the game.

Which means each set piece isn’t a drop. There’s what, 8 different sets? 3 pieces per, so that’s 24 items that aren’t drops.
As the game now has to cater to multiple new specs, there has to be loot drops that cater to them as well. Which unfortunately means a lot more items that only 1 person is going to want.

coupled with 10 week phases, that pretty much means ppl cant collect the full set they want, with common rng. so a tweak is warranted to reduce the effect of rng due to the short period the raid is max level.
more items dropped pr kill, maybe. or only class appropriate drops can drop, based on comp. or both. or items appropriate for the classes, that arent already equipped on the players in the raid, can drop.
would atleast reduce the chance to end up with a bunch of shards and no one feeling happy about the 35 mins upgrade-casino, reset after reset.
Tell me exactly why you should get full BiS gear; using less than 100 words and using only one posting avatar.

because its one of the fun parts of the game. getting fully geared. always has been. and some items may stay BiS in p3, given the jump will be only 10 lvls. IF u played early classic, u wouldnt ask that. the 6-18 months u had to gear up there, ment we all collected every tierpiece (u may not know this, but they dropped as setpieces then, not tokens or items to hand in for gear at a vendor, or gamestore purchases)

Getting fully geared =/= absolute bis.
If you played early Classic, you’d know that some of the items from BFD are already better than some pre-raid lvl60 items. Which further solidifies the following stance:
You do not need to end every phase in full bis.
Most of the tier sets were garbage, they weren’t the contested pieces of Classic raiding.
