I wonder if the person who made the priest set got something mixed up and by a misunderstanding thought he was entrusted with the paladin class set.
Even Bellular pointed this out in his video on youtube laughing that the priest set look like the one that should be the paladin set. The paladin set on the other hand looks kinda like the one that should have been the priest set.
The priest set with all the extra elements looks like a plate set. What the heck are they smoking at the office of the art team who designed these?
So if you pop Avenging Wrath you get pala wings fighting the set wings? High tier sets have a tendency to look more like plate, and I really don’t think the pala set looks priestly at all. I think Paladins need to stop being salty over this, and priests enjoy their first tier set with pants.
Flexibility is already there. Class fantasy is not. Priests running around in a set that look like a plate set washes away the lines between classes and their class fantasy. Priest dont want to admit it looks like a paladin set which is understandable because the set looks awesome. It doesnt change the fact it looks like a plate armor set and not something that a priest who suppose to wear cloth would wear. It definitely looks like an armor of a holy warrior aka paladin. The paladin set remake is kinda lackluster and the fact they made the priest one look like a paladin set just makes it more obvious that they didnt put much effort into the paladin set “recolor”.
Based on how they look I think it is even possible they cut some development cost on using the one planned for paladins for priests and the threw a bone for paladins with a “recolor”. The paladin set is kinda meh. It’s not outright bad but meh.
The priest set looks like a cloth set of armour with golden plate attached to it. Lol, theres more cloth in that set then there is plate.
So ur just wrong im afraid fully.
Ur mad because ur class didnt get the cooler set and decided to take that as some sorta personal attack.
The paladins set looks awesome, just because u dont agree, doesnt make it bad either. Its entirely personal taste and has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of money put towards it.
Paladins and Priests litterally got the best sets in the game in season 2 and ur complaining about costs. Imagine how monks feel, who havent seen a good set since the launch of their class
Agreed, It does not look like plate to me either. It actually looks a bit like Alexstrasza’s new model though. Both Alex and new priest set have that dragon spine decoration, so I guess art team used that idea for us.
It is also cool that priests can now cosplay Alexstrazsa.
If that is cloth to you then i have an pink unicorn to sell you.
If you see that set without any knowledge about what other classes sets looks like you will automatically think that is plate gear that is a paladin.
You do not go automatically think that fits a cloth that is a priest for sure.
You do know that is called Legion gear right?
This gear that paladin got is not like the judgment set.
Yes, I nipped on the PTR over the weekend, and whilst there I made a point of checking out various Race/Class combos of the new sets.
It is unmistakably a long Cloth Jacket open at the bottom. It has all the details consistent with Cloth throughout the game, such as shading where the cloth folds etc.
But yeh, I will admit, although the Paladin set is clearly Plate, with all the hall mark aesthetics of plate wow uses. The set really didn’t turn out as good as I expected it would.
You’re right about the Alexstrazsa inspiration though. I could definitely see that.
You will also love the World/Campaign Gear Cloth sets. Definitely has a Sindragosa vibe going on.
Here is a closer look for you on a Nightborne (priest race I have). Look at the long jacket. Look at the details in the cloth that hangs over the head. The slight folds in the materials.
Maybe you should be paying people to take your pink unicorn, because you’re obviously not selling many.
Judgement armor is the Blackwing Lair set. The Paladin set has clear similarities, slightly different shoulders and helm, and it’s a shame they didn’t match the colour scheme.
But many of this tier sets has taken some inspiration from BWL, since they’re both Black Dragon themed raids. The Shaman set for example is an exact copy. Where as one of the priest recolours (the LFR), just took the colour scheme. The Paladin set clearly is a rework, although I think they would have been better off sticking a little closer to the original.
