I’m not the first one to type out my big concerns with the 10.1 rework plans but I find them super disappointing, so here we are.
I feel like what we have now totally promotes build diversity and i definitely see a lot of variations, so i have no clue what the problem is here. The things that are on the table feel like they will narrow it down a lot.
There are many options to avoid “button bloat”. Myself and a lot of players do not feel an issue with this.
- Mind sear feels really great to cast and should not be removed at all. Making players choose between a mind sear- or mind spike-build for AoE would be a great solution. The way it’s looking now is like we will only be cleaving and terribly narrows down the build diversity.
Talents:

We definitely need instant mind spikes for mobility in PvP and high AoE PvE fights. Standing still and hardcasting a mindblast is almost certain death in many situations so imagine having to hard cast mind spike.

Damnation should not be removed. It feels great to cast and contributes a lot to making the class playable in pvp.
General:

Why replace all these interesting passive talents we have today by boring crit / flat damage / resource talents. This really makes no sense and feels like a huge step backwards.

What is this button bloating nonsense about? All our damage spells feel unique at the moment and should be used at the right time.
I hope blizzard will recognize these concerns that i think the majority agrees with. If you look at the facebook pages, the things i just typed out keep coming up, so i’m definitely not speaking just for myself here.
GG on the set design, but we care more about keeping our class as fun as it is now. This is truely the most fun talent tree i ever played and it would be sad to see it dumbed down the way it looks now.
