Shadows doing really well in m+ raids and PvP this tier. Who’d have thought it was just a tuning problem and the spec didn’t actually need drastic reworking.
Yeah the damage’s there for sure. 2 piece is garbage in pvp tho. Less than 2,5% of my dps in some cases (pvp). The bolt unironically hits less than mind blast does. We’ll see if the 4 set is of any use.
Same issues persist as before though. Maybe a full rework isn’t necessary, but some of the pain points should be addressed.
- We really, really, really need a burst mobility cooldown in the class talent tree.
- Way too many 2 point nodes in both class and spec tree.
- Psychic link seems fundamentally unbalanceable. Either its way too strong or way too weak. We should habe something else.
- several dead talents, e.g. divine star.
- i know this is by design but we have to cast way too much of our dmg.
4 piece is great, also remember bolt has a lot of other interactions than just damage and they all work with the 2set.

Dot extension is not something I jump up from my chair and cheer about. Dots running out isn’t exactly a common issue I feel. Not sure if you get insanity from the bolt, but even if it does, 2,5% is 2,5%. Meanwhile on my prot warrior the random shield wall in blitz can make me able to tank entire teams and spin the flag just a few secs longer.
You get insanity, ghost spawn (Which counts to yogg), damage, dot extension, and void form extension.
The 4 piece also buffs your damage in PI as well as grants extra one, increasing burst.

also make so you can cast while in dispersion like paladin bubble.

why can’t they make so void torrent puts you in void form / dark ascension like paladins wake of ashes.
Would make channeling the slow thing a thing to actually want to press.
also they could do with removing void form and dark ascension from the button bloat and make Mindbender spawn of void torrent as well, 2 buttons eliminated from the game that isn’t the slightest fun to press.
would remove 4 seconds of GCD cast time of not being able to do damage to actually be able to deal damage.
Like paladins wake of ashes gives you a cool 45 sec burst. Also making void torrent like wake of ashes for priest would make priest not so sluggish waiting for 2min CDs or 1min cds with a bleeping cast time. .
I can only speak from PvP side of things since I don’t do raids, but Priest feels decently strong… however, I don’t think that’s the main issue for most people.
Dead talents, clunky gameplay, too many hard casts, too much prep work needed before we start doing damage, that’s the problem. Just because the players adapted to that (even though we hate it), doesn’t make it a good idea. There’s a lot of good points in this thread and I hope devs would give it a look.

Also another nuissance for me - remove Body and Soul, buff Feather ffs. I HATE rotating two short duration movement buffs when moving around the world/dungeons. having to press something every 4s to move faster is so atrocious.

void torrent is clunk play and having cast timers on dark ascension and void form meanwhile johnny bravo is clunking down on you feels sad.
should be either baked in to void torrent or make them instant cast.

Honestly, if it did the full channel in like 1.5 sec, it’d be fine, as a mini-nuke that can be interrupted, considering u can move while using it makes it easier. But 3 sec channel, cmon.
As for void form, it’s literally unplayable because for some reason, u need a target to cast it (to hit like, what, 250k???)

SP’s toolkit in PvP is just completely outdated and borderline bad in 2025 compared to the design of other specs.
- One of 2 specs in the game that has to cast its burst cooldown
- Only spec in the game where 2 integral abilities are channelled casts
- Only spec in the game where it has a killable (one shotted) root and it gets removed
- Worst dot dispel protection in the game by a mile
- Shadow Crash is the most unreliable instant application of dots by far
- Blizzard have changed the way Shadow Crash interacts with reflects/immunities, so you are now not rewarded for your mechanical outplays anymore
Like, this spec is unironically 5 years behind everything else design wise

blizzard hates anything besides disc priest so.
very easy to understand reroll disc. Dev team gave up.
