Yeah i know, you’ve been crying for months about “muh melee have to press LB” , because god forbid if we have battle-mage like spec everything must be range or fury warrior like melee. Can’t have something in between!
Sorry its just lazy design that 2 different dps role share most of the dmg spells.
Shocks could have more major role in enha as mid range spells, and we could have a more battle mage spec.
Also the “introduction” of the spec is nowhere near about spamming lb, but that just me.
Vanilla started as ss with shocks, tbc give dw and melee dmg. Wotlk introduced maelstrom weapon crap what noone asked for, removed in legion finally, and returned in sl since, as its horrible state with gutted melee skills. I m happy that melee skills gets more focus for a melee spec. God forbid it.
Sorry to rain in your parade but 100% on the main skills will not do that much. The main damage will still be spenders, with the only change being SS doing 10% instead of 5% damage for storm.
The real change will be the nerfs to the wolves, which will impact our overall damage in a big way, and the change to how hot hand LL interacts with totemic. Totemic might be back to the elementalist build, with a bigger impact on LL and fire/physical damage now that sundering proc the totem.
It is a melee class. This is how battlemages work.
They play in melee in order to empower their spells for the big payout.
It is like saying BM should not be mobile because he is ranged. Sure you could put all their skills with cast time or just accept that they cover a niche playstyle.
One of the main reasons for the big Enhancement change back in Shadowlands was that a lot of people complained that the spec felt like playing fury warrior, only in blue and with maelstrom instead of rage. The spec has gone through insanely chaotic times. Now it’s in a stable state probably for the first time since I can remember.
