Blizzard has once again made changes to Elemental Shamans. Last season, we had to relearn our rotation multiple times, and now, with the Primordial Wave changes, we have to do it again. With the latest class tuning we got dmg boosted but mechanic stayed the same…
The rotation feels worse than before. For example, after applying Flame Shock, you can’t immediately queue Primordial Wave because you have to wait for the first tick of Flame Shock before Primordial Wave becomes active. This makes gameplay feel sluggish and unresponsive.
The community is not happy with these changes. Most players want the old version of Primordial Wave back… It felt great, the animation was satisfying, the sound design was excellent, and the rotation was intuitive. Now, Elemental Shamans are at the very bottom of the meta, making the spec nearly unplayable in competitive content.
This isn’t the first time this has happened. In most expansions, Elemental Shamans shine early on, only to fall off with each subsequent season, eventually being forgotten while other specs continue to dominate. Meanwhile, Enhancement Shamans, who have been given constant attention and buffs since the beginning of the expansion, remain overtuned and highly effective.
Can Blizzard finally break this cycle and give Elemental Shamans the love they deserve?
