11.2 PTR Resto Druid Spell Visual Changes

I personally don’t like the new milky-green spell effects currently tested on the PTR.
The current verdant green hand gesture visuals with the leafs fit way better in my opinion.

Basing all druid spell visuals on a “Necrolord” ability feels also kinda wrong to me. Insects are not the first thing that come to mind when thinking about a character attuned with nature and the spells. Regrowth, Rejuvenation, Wild Growth, etc where always plant based. In icon and spell effect.

(Did not like the new Adeptive Swarm visual when it was introduced but understood the intend to move away from the “Necrolord” ability to an ability symbiotic with life instead.)

I hope we at least have the possibilty to opt out of the new visuals via glyphs.

Quite disappointed too.
The restoration spec has always been based around the regenerative power of plants.
Having a spell that uses small butterflies is reminiscent of insect swarms, less offensive. But why did you add this visual on the caster’s hands for EVERY spell ???

In short:

  • we’ve lost the deep forest green for a pale, almost white, green.
  • we’ve lost some very pretty leaf visuals (especially for Regrowth) for big, colourful butterflies.

It’s always nice to have new visuals, but it’s frustrating when the very essence of the class isn’t fully respected. Unless you take into account the many comments I’ve read recently, I’d prefer to have the option of keeping the current visuals.

(and when will there be an update for the much-needed Roots spell?)
