Around 14 years ago, i was farming Tempest Keep on my blood death knight.

I farmed it every week, the problem being Tempest Keep at the time was still too hard to solo. I brought around 2-3 people to do it.
One day, ofcourse it drops, the fabled mount. I lost it, the other guy rolling 29 and i rolling a staggering 28.
I never forgot the day, a true bummer if you will.

I am happy to announce, yesterday, 19-02-2023, i have obtained the Ashes of Al’Ar. I didnt farm actively for it for years, but nowadays i only level alts to farm mounts. On my 4th run this week, second week in a row of farming again i got it.

Well, on too the firelands bird, still farming strong on that one sadly. God that raid sucks to have to run 10x a week i can tell. I am done with hearing BEHOOOLD, THE RAGE OF THE FIRELANDS!!! but persistance is key i guess. That and alts.

Gratz I guess.

I kinda gave up after the 3rd attempt. I’m more interested in playing current game than old stuff.

I believe Firelands is one of the raids you can do that lockout sharing trick with your alts. I haven’t tried it yet myself (did it years ago with ICC).

Grats on Ashes, I got it a while back but I ran it every week for quite a while before it dropped.
The mount I’ve been farming the most though is Blazing Drake that simply won’t drop from Dragon Soul. I have seen the Lifebinders one 3 times and got the Experiment one too.

Lockout sharing trick?
If there is any way to farm firelands easier, i am dying to know.

You kill all the bosses up until the one that drops the thing you want. Then you create a group in LFG tool and invite your alt. Then that alt enters the raid, wait til is group leader and kick original char. then you have a new lockout on that char.

Doesn’t work on every raid (mostly on older ones like ICC) but I think I read Firelands was one that it works on. I suggest googling it for better instructions.

Is that possible without having multipul accounts?

For as far as i know, the character you log out on will also disband the queue right?

If that actually works tho it would be a literal godsend, if only this worked on hellfire citadel lmao

Yes, possible. I do it a lot for achievements where you need to interact with another character, like the one where you need to share a picnic or some such.

You create a group and log out and the group stays in the list and you can sign up on an alt and then log back in the main and invite in. A bit of a faff but generally easier than trying to find another player.

I both hate & love these low drop rate mounts.
Spending hours with very little to show for it, then it drops & ill make sure you get to take a good long look at it.

Its a low polygon mess, but its MY low polygon mess.

I’d swap yours Tempest Keep for mine Dragon Soul. Every time I go through the back of the deathwing i die a little :cry:

Oh man, i tried spine yesterday and i was amazed by how though it was even now.
I am soo happy i got lifebinders handmaiden from deathwing back in 4.3, i know i still have to get blazing drake but honestly i am good without it haha

So so true.
Once I figured out you didn’t even need to kill the other bosses in Tempest Keep it got even easier. Just run straight to Kael Thas and kill him. The fight was a bit of a faff but them so are half the ones in Dragon Soul, and Spine of Deathwing most of all…
Been running Dragon Soul for quite a while now, Blazing Drake just refuses to drop…
