2 specs /1 character. Possible?

Hi.
I play Elemental Shaman.
I want to play Enchantment aswell.

I play casual ( random bg, normal raid, questing and older content)
Is it worth getting another legendary ( mine is level 3 fiery skybraker) and weapons.

Would have been nice to at least be able to do normal raid on Ench.

Or would you recomend making an alt instead.

Thnx

Personally I would never make an alt of the same class I already have. 99% of the effort is shared between specs. The remaining 1% is waiting on getting soul ash. You can’t reasonably level a 2nd character within the time window it takes to just wait, so put that time into anything else you like.

But for the content you do, you don’t need a legendary anyway, or could consider the PvP legendary which will work for all specs. It’s also surprisingly fun in casual dungeons/raids when you’re blasting out instant casts, and people don’t know what to do about you in BGs when you can’t be interrupted :joy_cat:

You can disenchant all the gear you want.

I dont understand what you mean by that, please clarify.

Don’t mind me, it’s just a joke about misspelling enhancement.

Yes, it is common to play multiple specs on 1 character.
Just craft another Legendary and swap your gear when you change spec (You can use the Gear tab under your character panel to manage this nicer)

The only reason to make an alt is if you really want to be a different race / Covenant while playing Enh instead of Ele. Personally the time investment for an alt vs spec is not worth it.

Well unless you’re super hardcore there is no big gain from having multiply characters of the same class. You might have to settle with a slightly weaker covenant for your spec but while looking at the two specs fast it looks like you would be fine with the same covenant on both specs.

Well at least i speak 3 languages but spelling is sometimes hard.

You can play all 3 specs if you want. I play 3 specs on my druid, and the only reason I don’t play the 4th is because I have no interest in healing.

No, no point having an alt for another spec of the same class if you’re playing casually.

It is a bit easier if the two specs largely share the same stat priority, e.g. Havoc and Vengeance, and if one covenant is competitive for both.

Sometimes you don’t even have to. If even one of the two best stats for your primary spec is also good for your secondary, that gear set is often “good enough” when starting out. Except weapons and trinkets, usually, which won’t translate from ele to enhance at all :smile_cat:

You will, over time, end up with dedicated gear sets for each that are optimised for the job, but primary stat tends to weight a lot higher than secondary in SL and it is less of a problem than ever.

IIRC, crit+vers are resto and elemental shaman stats, so if either of those is good for enhancement, the OP is in a great spot. Not everyone is that lucky (and some of us have a different gear set for the same role in M+ vs raids vs PvP :joy_cat:).
