Whispers and winds of freedom were blowing over the dreaded Citadel. Home to the once freed Knights of Acherus, those ideals of self determination were nothing but a forlorn dream by now. Revolted by the overwhelming presence of Scourge agents within their ranks, a band of Knights decide to convene in secret.
Brothers, Sisters of Acherus.
We call upon you in this solemn hour, for we have noticed your devotion to the TRUE Ebon Cause. Ever since the Deathlord struck his bargain with the Lich King, the Scourge presence within our citadel has been growing by the day. More and more of our comrades have grown complacent towards their former slavers and welcome them within the hallowed halls of our bastion. The Lichs and servants of the Scourge embraced within the ranks of our units. The newly risen Brothers and Sisters forced to pledge loyalty to the Frozen Throne. The dissidents offered to the puppets of the King for them to be “conditionned” into service.Enough is enough.
We will not be the vassals of Icecrown again.
A meeting will be called between all the Knights who share our ideals. Within the wastes of Dragonblight, we will brew the plague that will root out the Scourge infestation of our citadel. Join in secrecy, lest the agents of the King suspect our uprising.Glory to the Ebon Blade !
The rebellious whispers alas found their way to unwanted ears. Soon, some Knights loyal to the Deathlord and his accord with the King decided to take the matter into their own hands. The Ebon Blade had to be united in front of Bolvar, as per the will of the esteemed Deathlord and his horsemen.

As you may have heard, some of our lesser minded comrades are openly rejecting our newfound allies presence. While we bear no love for the Scourge that once enslaved us, we are not blind to the benefits of our unholy alliance. The Lich King granted the Deathlord the power to repel the Legion and save Azeroth ! Our citadel has never been more thriving and our forces are bolstering by the days. Those idealistic fools eager to live in the past threaten the hegemony of our order.Remember our oath as Knights of the Ebon Blade !
We serve and fight as agents of the Deathlord and Acherus. If you still possess a sliver of loyalty and sense of duty, you will stand by his side as he punishes those who partake in this treacherous uprising. We will track them down and bring them to kneel to the Deathlord will or pay the blood price.Victory for Acherus and the Deathlord !
OOC information :
This is an interest check about the possibility of an Ebon Civil War due to the recent IC developpements. Indeed, tensions are rising within the Ebon Hold due to all the influx of Knights loyal to the Lich King (cf Allied Race having to pledge to the Throne). On top of that, Scourge agents and Knights are welcomed within the halls of Acherus, enforcing the will of the Lich King. This has been received with mixed opinions and often outright contempt and resentment from more traditionalist Knights.
The idea would be to have secret meetings between loyalists and dissidents that would culminate in sabotage, skirmishes and open battles. It would start with a doubtful atmosphere within the Citadel as many of your comrades may be rebels in secrecy.
Why now and not in prepatch and / or Shadowlands ?
The Ebon Blade will be busy with more pressing matters once the new expansion premice rolls in. It is the opportune moment to have them a little conflict over the matter. And who knows ? A more united IC Ebon ideology may erupt out of those clashes.
If enough Ebons/Scourge are interested in the idea, we will try and get people in motion to push those events forwards on a scheduled pattern. The timing of those series of events will be decided once we have an idea of who is interested and who is not. If you’re interested in taking part in this, be it loyalist/rebel, make sure to let us know here or in the Ebon Discord.
Due to how big this “uprising” ends up, I would be tempted to invite exterior forces of the Blade who’d seek to use this rift to get revenge against the Brotherhood. It could serve as a good cement to remind all the Ebons that they’re alone in this world and need to stick together.
Make sure to let us know what you think about it. If it is not something the playerbase wants to take part in, then the idea will be put aside for the time being.
