Wheather boosted or not, the damage/healing and burst output coming from gear this time around is staggering.
200ilvl on 1500rating getting to 1600 is currently missing diceroll, and literally 75% of the games are vs people with 220ilvl gear. That’s like being level 55 vs level 60 in terms of output. I’m not saying those pve stars are extremely bad at pvp, I’m saying alot of people are stuck at 1400-500 because of the EXTREME gear preformance spike.
220ilvl is meant for 1800+ , not 1500.
Or is there like a pay-for-boost requirement to play wow in 2021 ?

Have to completely agree with you - current state is hectic, met way too many teams with 38k+ hp at 1.5k while gearing up my alts. Also way too many people boosting others for gold.
Gear difference currently is NUTS, what makes it even worse is the vicious circle you can’t escape

And if you rolled a wrong non-meta character, you’re gonna have a painful LFG experience (unless you have a friend who can carry you to a certain rating or just buy a boost so you can grab the gear)

My bet is that Blizzard will do nothing about it and only will encourage it more. It is financially good for them to have boosting everywhere (PvP and PvE) because people buy tokens, sell it for gold and buy boosts.
It is like they have pay-to-win MTX without actual MTX in-game. Brilliant, really.
Unfortunately this is a short-sighted vision and will likely destroy the game.

Gearing up my alts I’ve found most people around 1500 have 32kish hp, you get the occasional big boi but it’s far from every game.
Same, perhaps 1 in 5 games you meet a booster, but even then, he can hardly do a 1v2, unless you hand it over to him.

I rarely see a booster at this rating, but i see full geared people above 36k HP in nearly 80% of the games.
Not fun with a character that does not even break through 30k.

Joined wow 1.5month after SL release.

gear matters and its impossible to farm conquest if ur 170 ilvl or 197 campaign gear without versa (warrior? xd)
i really dont understand how they are failing to make the expansions super alt unfriendly, there are so many ways to solve this issue.
Lets say u already have a char which has already reached 1.8/2.1/2.4 in first season of sl.Make that account be able to upgrade all the conquest items based on the highest achievment that the person has achieved in the 1st season of shadowlands and increase the conquest gain from arenas,problem pretty much solved.

Alt friendly was only Legion, i play PvP in garbage gear, even can’t do mage tower challenge in it, but feels very ok in BGs, no 1 deleted me, coz of ilvl difference.
I kind of do that, I’m sorry.
It’s just that I have 1800 in 3v3, and I use 2v2 to play with my friends or help them gear up their alts.
My friend and I actually talked about this!
I started at wow in 2006-2007 and I have had several breaks… My mate and I have played together since MoP, but we keep wondering what about new players?
I mean jees we are struggling like hell in arena without gear.
This is the first season and you can already one-shot a new-dinged level 60. Being a new player in this game must be so discouraging. If you don’t have friends to help you out, I really can’t see a reason why you would continue playing wow.

No, seriously I wake up in the morning open LFG. I find 20-30 “WTS Boost” advertisements right off the bat, be it m+, raid or pvp all infested with boosterplague.
Ye its true. If an “issue” is the right word for it idk…but ive met alot…and i mean a f ton … of overgeared ppl at 1.3 cr…38k+ hp…sometimes they are just bad…but the sheer pressure is just autowin alot of the times agains my 185 war 
Moonkins, rogues, !!ret paladins!! are the biggest problem for me.
Ive even met some multi r1 players tanking rating at that cr…
I’ve been trying to gear an alt through arenas, and I just can’t get out of 1300 rating because of this. Most of the teams will be very geared vs our gear, and it’s like this 80% of the arenas. At first I thought I was having an unlucky strike, but it’s way too much coicidence. And now reading this it just cements my suspicions

the thing is… u have many ways to farm gear without rating in X queue
i got friends that are 2.1+ in Rbg but never did arenas, that means when they start doing arenas they are already 220+
same with 3vs3 2.1 that never did Rbg
How is it any different from Wod/mop ? You had to farm bgs for honor gear (or bite the bullet and cap all of your catch up conq in dog gear at low mmr) before aswell. 197 ilvl pvp gear and covenant gear is perfectly enough for 1.6.

Yeah I saw 3x ppl with 40k+ unbuffed hp so 226 ilvl in a 3s game at 1.4k mmr 
In mop it was very different. The skill did matter the mostdue to absurd amount of cc. Also there was pvp stat which neglected pve players. On war all you needed was honor gear and conquest weapon and trinkets…ofc you would hit a wall but way way later than on 1300cr
Alt friendly for pvp was wod, legion was worst than Sl in that regard:), but atleast there wasnt boosters like nowadays, not so

Simple fix: downgrade the gear to the specific bracket
1400-207
1600-213
1800-220
Boosters will keep boosting even with similar gear, because they have better knowledge.
But atleaat u wont get one shotted any more by players that have never even achieved 1500 on thier own.
Seems fair to me, pvp must be an equal ground in the bracket u play! Where it inly
Matters performance and setup of the comp u play vs others.
This way people can improve and have a gradual better understanding.
i think alot ov pve only players- saw that pvp cN be awsome, thats rly fine, but they shouldnt be allowed to play 220 ilv in 0-1600 bracket, eventualy everyone learns to do some cc and burst rotation isnt a problem
For them. So with a 200 ilv even if u outplay most of them, ur damage isnt enough to a win condition and its getting frustrated.

How do you find RBG groups? I have 2k achievement and dont get invited with 200 ilvl as WW monk.
I started some weeks after Shadowlands release, I lost all old contacts, since I had Quit in WoD.
I tried to start wow again late BFA, I had the same problem there and quit again. Not finding teams/mates is pretty common now. The community is completely different now than it was in MoP
