With bosses in Heroic Raids and Mythic 15+ being roughly the same difficulty, it would be better to reward the same loot.
With mythic 15s dropping 239, players can more reasonably obtain 239 conduits as well, ones which are currently locked to korthia, as the raids drop different conduits than the dungeons.
Further in raids, one can get dominating sockets and 246 gear from kel and sylvanas. So there is still an incentive to go do Raids.
It’s also intentionally capped below heroic raid ilvl to curb raid splits/loot funnelling runs. While I agree that the current system is poor, your solution is not a fix for anything.
U’re a demon hunter, thats how you are supposed to play! but yeah, you could definitely do heroic raids and early mythic raids if you do +17’s with eyes closed.
We started doing the SL dungeons back in November 2020. We’ve had them ‘on farm’ for more than half a year. Of course something that’s on farm is going to feel easier than something we’re currently progressing on.
If you want to compare difficulty levels between dungeons and raid bosses, you have to compare them while YOU (not ‘guild x’) have both on farm.
some of my guildmembers spam 15s most of the day and we farm HC raid each week. I’ll ask them which is easier but we both know what their answer will be
The Reality is however that the 239 gear is only dropped by 8 bosses of the Heroic Raid.
These 8 bosses are Tarragrue, The Eye, The Nine, Remnant, Soulrender, Painsmith, Guardian and Fatescribe.
Arguably, only Painsmith and Guardian are annoying/hard. The other are relatively easy.
That means that 6/8 bosses dropping 239 are easy. You can kill them in one pull, which arguably takes 5 minutes.
Then you have Mythic 15 Keys. They take up to 40 minutes.
Farming HC and 15’s each day and each week is a lot, but mythic 15s take far longer than the 6 bosses of the raid.
Sylvanas and Kel drop 246, this is enough of a reason to go into raids each week for that extra little gear push.
15 keys already drop 236 gear, 3 ilvl’s higher has the bonus of dropping the 239 conduits, which are currently unavailable until you get max renown with the Relic peepz in Korthia.
But you are still only getting +3 ilvls, not mythic raid tier gear of 252 or even syl or kel 246 gear.
It’s a minor gear increase which fixes the difference between Heroic Raid and allows the access to 239 conduits which are currently locked behind a rep grind.
My answer would be HC raid. Of course it requires coordination between more players to manage mechanics, but I use very little of my class toolkits on raid bosses. It’s just dodge stuff, stand in stuff, move other there, move back, all while pewpewing the boss.
On the 15 key I just did on my hunter, I used binding shot, freezing trap, tar trap, bursting shot, tranq shot, as well as dodging stuff, moving around and pewpewing the boss. That’s far more to think about and do, and far many more judgement calls to make on an individual level that on a raid boss.
Gear progression regardless of content and everyone is fine. Only difference from pro to casual players should be the t sets which could be easy upgradable from av like ksm or curve
As someone who only does M+ I don’t think it’s needed to bump up the ilv. Would rather see more loot options added, perhaps some set bonuses that is tailored towards dungeons. For example there isn’t a single haste/versatility neck in the entire pool of loot from dungeons, until Tazavesh becomes part of the keystone rotation.
Obviously I can’t speak for everyone but a more common complaint is capping valor upgrades at 246 instead of 252, and Blizzard generally doing little to nothing major to the whole M+ system since it was introduced. Only thing that comes to mind is the AoE cap and more linear dungeon design, which was obviously done because of MDI style pulls/routes. End result is less fun gameplay because it was re-designed for 0,5% of the playerbase/e-sports purposes.
tbh with how best rewards from m+ come now from +20 instead +15 there is really no excuse for gear to be capped at 246 - instead 252 when people have all +20s timed.
same with domination shards - there is 0 excuse for not putting that system into m+ too
its just another way to force players into raids that they dont want to do . never did never will.
