You should add that you got gladiator in S4 BFA when good destro warlocks had 1000 Rating above you, and in SL S2 when top teams were at 3600+. So that people don’t think you are a “REAL” gladiator. Maybe we can find a better title, like semi-glad.
If the game says 2500 in the bracket you are playing, then that is your exp. Anything else is just opinions, fan fiction, big salty tears, all of that.

Found another clown. So if I get it right, 3v3 gladiators and rank 1 you fight in SoloQ at 2500 rating are all actually 1600 normal arena players? but then again how did they gladiator if they are so bad? Makes you really wonder how much 3v3 rating matters, doesn’t it?

I’ll elaborate on this. 2.5 soloque !== 2.5 any other ladder, it’s only === 2.5 soloque. Historically in community when we say 2.5xp player, we presume the hardest bracket - 3s. Even 2s often is omitted, because it’s heavily affected by broken specs and meta and often it’s not relevant.
The only situation where rating actually matters - is when you finding guys for proper bracket. If I’m looking for a guy in 2s with title “2.5exp”, I write this because I have this exp on the same class I’m queuing with, in this season or 1-2 before, so this rating is relevant and not from wotlk 10 years ago on healer dru or anything. If, for example, u have 2.5 on soloque and join my lfg with “2.5exp”, I check you and see that you have 1475exp and challengers all previous seasons - you get decline. Just because your 2.5 is totally unrelated to this bracket.

Now, solo q in matter of rating has 2 major issues:

  • first one is normal distribution of ladder. In 3s you start a lot lower mmr and have very small steps of gaining/losing mmr/cr. So if you’re bad, you’re placed to corresponding challenger a lot faster, and ladder itself looks like usual with only 10% people going higher than 1800.
Soloq is another, there starting mmr is very high (for me it was 2.3 first game, but it’s still smth like 2-2.2k for guys who never had more than 1.8exp), and because of soloq nature with game groupings of 6 it’s very easy to get rating and very hard to drop it. All my friends who bother to play more than 1 soloq game, have 2.4-2.5cr (not higher). They usually have 2.1-2.3 exp in 3s last seasons. Next, funny enh sham from ru forum, who was stuck on 1.5, always whining about glads making impossible for him to get his true rating, now also has 2.5cr in soloq. He still backpedaling and clicking his abilities with mouse from panels, but because of this mmr system he has his minute of fame and self confidence. Next, the most interesting, Raiku, bicmex etc have also not too different rate - 2.7-2.8, on all of their alts, right after 2-3 hours of playing, and not higher. It’s not because they’re not capable of getting higher, right now basically game itself won’t let him. Because of prepatch calibrating games, mmr bugs or who knows why exactly, bicmex waits for 30 minutes for soloq on 2.6 mmr on his hunter, gets game with 3 dh, manages to get 5/6 wins and gets from it 2cr.
Hopefully, during next season or two this system will heal itself, but there is 2 possibilities - it will have higher participation, and proper mmr distribution, so it will look more like 2s 3s bracket in matter of rating, or mmr will still be broken, but with higher participation these funny enh shamans will still have 2.5-2.6cr, with raiku etc sitting on 3.6cr, the same as s2 went off.

Second issue - is spec design and solo shuffle design itself, heavy prevailing to zug-zug meta. If we take low skill challenger player and give him dh and arcane mage or survival hunter, he will have A LOT higher cr with dh, from obvious reasons. You already mentioned bfa locks, s1-s2 warrs etc. it’s also relevant point, and usually solved by checking, when and on what classes this rating was got, since check pvp allows it.

P.s. sorry for this big blanket of text, I’m usually annoyed as well seeing this one, it’s just interesting if he read it and what conclusions will make

Aww, i struck a nerve there. At least i managed to get glad in those seasons even though my class was OP or the rating was inflated af. What did you get? Ah right, Rival. Fun fact, i never boast with my glads from these seasons because i am realistic enough to know these don’t mean much. You on the other hand appear to not have this kind of realism since you apparently keep telling yourself that pre patch solo shuffle rating means anything.

So what you are telling is, that the glad xp i have in 3s is my xp. Thanks for condradicting yourself.

Yeah i am seeing big salty tears here! Not from me though.

Can’t w8 for it to open again, i guess i do all achivs again then start shuffle again.
