I’ve been playing a few BG’s with 160 ilvl as a 2H Frost DK and it feels awful. Every matchup feels like a losing matchup and it seems like all DPS classes can outheal my burst.
I was beyond thrilled to play 2H frost again and lash out big Obliterate crits but as of now it hits like a wet noodle. A shadowpriest’s shadowmend heals them for 4k while my Obliterate hits for 800 dmg, how is this fair? When I’m lucky to get a killing machine proc I can pray for a 2,5k Obliterate crit, meanwhile a Ret Pala comes cruising by with a 10k Templar’s Verdict and hunters crit 14k with Aimed Shot.
Oh and Frostwyrm’s Fury hits for 400 on players. Great to know our only actual damage CD other than PoF shreds like that!
I’m curious about other peoples thoughts on this class.

The problem with 2h frost is you burst is bigger but you gotta build up, so Remoresless winter - Obliberate ONly use howling with procs and frost strikes 70+ runic power. And time Wyrm with pillar and Chain of ice if talented. DW will feel faster, and pvp i think all stats will be good but if you hate the slow feel even tough dmg will be same if not better stack haste and vers. btw play obli and Glacial Advance on cd since you add razorice debuff on your target with it then burst with Pillar+Chill Streak - Frostwyrm etc. but check hazzed hard to write it all hope that helps
True I’ll never forget my power in Cata and MoP as a 2 H Frost when people actually feared a dk in melee combat, back when we were a slow moving killing machine, now we’re just a wet noodle without damage and sustain but with the movement of a turtle.
It’s ok, blizz knew they had to crush us because they will have insane things like ret pala, arms warrior, sub rogue etc etc etc, and boy am i glad that they chose to balance the game according to this vision of theirs, it feels nice when you know your obliterate doing 3.6 crits in a slow manner between frost strikes is exactly how the game is supposed to be, none of that insane fun for us in arenas ,no no, thank god the damage is leveled out on classes, and thank god our nerf happened
I am playing WW monk, ret paladin and MM hunter right now. My Frost DK is without a doubt the absolute worst of the lot by a big margin, its not even funny. The game isnt balanced around 1vs1, but it shouldnt be that much of a broken mess.
By the time we have built up RP for our burst to happen, we are most likely already dead. Anyone claiming Frost DK is fine can NOT be playing any other class to feel what true power actually looks like.
If you think you will make it as Frost be my guest, but know you are wasting your time leveling one to 60.
On Paladin forums a lot of people will tell you how ret is fine at the moment, but those people are completely 100% delusional.
im sure (atleast i hope so) that the obliteriate dmg will be tuned up to a fair amount kinda soon, on the other hand, i dont want frost dks to be as OP as in WoD back then, when we had that sick selfheal talent with 30yard range that leeched for 300% of the dmg done.

my dmg ist atm kinda mediocre, not too bad. the only way to deal dmg really fast is by gathering full runic power, ignite the hypoteric presence talent with pillar of frost and then just spam froststrike. (rune of hysteria instead of fallen crusader on offhand is also a choice here)
also, i consider BoS a must
and btw, why would you choose to play 2h frost when we have the privilege to wield 2 weapons and therefore 2 enchants…
Why would I choose to play 2H frost? Please don’t bring that discussion up again. The majorite of frost DKs have been begging for 2H frost for the last few years. We finally got it, it is a completly different playstyle than 1H frost where you rely on Obliterate instead of Frost Strike and can do big numbers instead of a bunch of small numbers. If you played one BG you would quickly realise how lackluster our damage, burst, mobility and sustain is as of now. Retribution Paladin does everything better x3, with many more examples.

i do only bgs so far. .
we have the most anti CC of every class but no mobility, its a fair trade.
also, you should perhaps rethink your talent choices, since your talents dont make any sense to me. and if you envy ret palas you should just reroll on them.
and btw, dual pvp trinkets increase the versality bonus of our selfheal for 50%, so better leave your pve bfa trinkets and get in touch with the current xpac.
Not sure if you’re trolling, but let’s pretend that you are not, even though you don’t even have a 1550 achievement in pvp.
What is wrong with my talent choices?
How much does your Frost Strike hit for? Frost Strike as duelwield can’t compare to other classes like hunter critting 20k+ in a global with double Aimed shot or Paladin who can throw 4 judgements in a row in one global which can crit for 32k+ total, I wonder how you plan to get full runic power to spam your “OP” Frost Strike when you get oneshotted.
As for why I don’t play Paladin. Do you expect me to play any other class and reroll whenever something is more OP? Have you heard about class identify and having preferences for playstyles? I don’t expect DKs to be the best, I just want it to be playable, which it isn’t as of now.
Did you even inspect me? I’m not using BFA trinkets and I do use the double pvp trinkets which gives 40% more bonus versatility, aka 4% more versaility which isn’t a huge deal. My character is probably not updated, but I’m not using BFA trinkets thats for sure.

Equipping a 2 hander should give u 10 or 15% haste or some buff .
Played all classes and specs this is the most sluggish that i have ever seen , it just doesn’t feel right .
2 handed frost sucks. I do 500 more dps with 2 <160ilvl weapons than with a mythic 184. Even ran sims, to check I wasn’t just messing the rotation up, but sure enough the 2 handed comes out short. Yet all that seems to drop is bloody 2 handers.
