Really?

I have been really excited about this since I read that frost Dk’s will be able to use 2H weapons but I am really dissapointed realizing that it might not become real. Why?

  1. Only 2-3 WW Monks abilities don’t work with 2H weapons like FoF or the snare.

  2. It would make sense visually since most of the abilities are already made without your weapons.

  3. It could only be via transmog if it would affect the current way the abilities escalate.

Ever since the dual wield monk was introduced DPS monk completely lost its interest for me.

What do you guys think? Is it something that you would like to get? I honestly think that variety = good.

I’m not clear on what you mean but if you want 2H WW monk back in Shadowlands, I have some good news for you because they already confirmed it’s return and it’s in the PTR and the beta for you to try out!

I completely agree. I really want a new animation for my WW, the animation of abilities has not changed since the MoP. Blizzard pay attention to this please. I’m already thinking about changing the class because of the monotonous gameplay

There’s a youtuber that own a Beta that has just confirmed it for me!

I had read about it, but it wasn’t available on the PTR just yet, but he told me it was fixed in the latest beta patch.

So we should definetely be getting it!

Do you mean it will be possible to play WW with 2h agility weapon equipped and be as viable as dual wielding?

Well, staves 100% but I’m not sure about polearms, for example.

I would be happy if given the chance to equip staves on WW and remain competitive comparing with dual wield so staves work for me. I’d just rather use one of the Brewmaster artifact skins anyway so that would be perfect.

Just been to the PTR and while monks can equip 2h in WW spec and use every ability without restriction (remains to be seen what’s more competitive to use 2h or DW) but can’t transmog Brewmaster artifact skins in WW spec while using a polearm or a staff. Reported it as a bug as hopefully this is unintended, this feature is working for other classes e.g. UH DK using Blood artifact skin so it should work with monk aswell.

EDIT: Can actually transmog Brewmaster staff as WW, it isn’t listed as Legion Artifact and can be found on the Staves category.

Unless there is an advantage to use 2h weapons as WW you will still always use 2 1h

The damage seems lower and having access to 1 more enchant is going to profit more

I probably will go for looks > efficiency if it’s not a huge difference in performance, always hated DW if not using Warglaives of Azzinoth.

This could be tuned, so the 2h enchant is stronger than 2 enchants on 1h weapons.

I could actually transmog I think but I’ll check.

But, YES, it was a bug and it’s solved. I remember people laughing about me for asking this in mmochampion. I knew I saw it somewhere.
