Recently (2020-12-16) the World of Warcraft balancing team has made 2v2 arena start at 0% Dampening instead of 20%.
In my opinion this was a very poor decision since it has now made the meta extremely slow paced and unfun to play since everyone can just self heal to top themselves. Basically, nobody can die until 6-10 minutes into the game.
It now takes 3 minutes and 15 seconds before the game reaches 20% dampening.
I hope this will get reverted since it was almost 4 years ago from today they introduced the feature that 2v2 starts at 20% dampening, and it has remained unchanged until a couple of days ago. I believe they wanted to make this change to give healers an advantage versus all the bursty classes, but in reality; it has caused hybrid classes to be unkillable.
I completely agree! Even with the 20% dampening at the start, healers were very strong and makes playing double dps extremely hard. I really feel that 2v2 should be really fast-paced games, and you just don’t get that when healers are allowed to sign up for 2v2
They should have just lowered it to 10%, that would have been a fair middleground. Or, when dampening initially kicks in, it already begins at 10%. Something along those lines would benefit double DPS and healer/DPS combos.
