3000 quest achievement for being a mentor needs to be loosened up

Hey there,

I am among those players who are genuinely passionate about helping others and I find it to be an exciting prospect to be able to assist other players in their journey in Azeroth.

As a player who is experienced in raiding, and PvPing (which are arguably the 2 main areas of end game content in this game), I feel excluded to be a part of this amazing feature just because one would never be expected to do 3000 quests while leveling and I genuinely don’t find questing as fun as other activities in WoW.

It is also worth mentioning that I am of strong belief that doing 3000 quests is hardly a good indication of how familiar a player is with World of Warcraft. (Doesn’t 1000 quest guarantee your exposure to all sort of different questing contents in WoW?)

I kindly request you to either loosen up this requirement, or consider implementing some alternative criteria (raiding achievement/pvp achievement?) for being able to sign up as a mentor.

This would only result in providing the newly-joined players an access to players who are experienced in ALL aspects of this amazing game rather than the ones who are interesting in questing.

Thank you.

The fun thing is that I quest 70% time in WoW, but I’m an altoholic and the 3000 quests is needed to do on one character so I don’t have it, it’s not account wide.

As Palpatine would say… “Ironic…”

Not to be rude or something and first of all its nice you want to become a guide for new players, but I had 3000 quests achieve done back in 2009/10 and I dont think its taking long nor is hard at all nowadays unless you just rushed dungeons all time or bought boosts… I think loremaster would have been more reasonable but instead we got the very easy way out :stuck_out_tongue:

You aren’t rude at all! Thanks for your feedback.

The problem is that I change characters very very frequently. I am the one who rerolls as soon as my guilds needs a role/class to be filled. (In the span of BFA, I’ve played 5 different classes for raid progression)

The main issue is that 3000 quests done on a “single” character is a bit strange.

yeah i wished they would make the 3k account wide or something. i recently got it but only because i discovered i had like 2.7k on my priest and though eh, why not. if it was lower i most definitely wouldnt have bothered.

i do kind of get it though. i mean the mentor system is for new people to like what? up to level 20? you dont raid or m+ at that level or anything like that so i think those requirements are rather strange and the majority will quest or run dungeons and reach level 20 in no time but oh well.
the mentor system is in general quite ill thought through imo.

A better requirement would be to have earn once or CE or gladiator.

but what will someone with cutting edge/gladiator provide to new players up to level 20 what someone else without those cant? ce/glad would be truly inflated requirements considering its only all about leveling.

Becouse people could use a mentor for raid or pvp?

well thats not what the mentor system is about though? new players can use the mentor system until they are level 20, then they re “kicked out” and lose access to it. they dont even get ready for raiding or pvp. at least nothing serious though. maybe the occassional random low level bg or dungeon.

This thresholds are based on numbers , so most likely everyone has 1000 just by playing the game .
1000 quests where just in bfa any starting player has that .

Yeah the main issue isn’t the number itself; it’s the number being on ONE character. Heck I think I’ve done 4000 quests if you count all my characters.

the problem is that the achivment is not account bound, I am at 2370 or so quests, but if I start to check what I done on other chars, I would be over or close to 3000 atleast.
seems i do have the achivment, but seems as I said it aint done on one char but several ones, and cant be mentor, but I check again I might have had a noob moment now.

That’s kinda silly that works till lv20

A bit different question but does anybody know when you go into your achievemnt tab under statistic>quest. The amount it says, that has to be account wide right?

I could sign on my DK so I know I got 3000 done but this seems like it has to be account wide under statistics right?

EDIT: It’s not account bound and is character bound. But I do wonder if world quests count in here or just pure quests?

worldquests dont count. worldquests have their own counter or count as daily quests or something like that but they definitely dont count as normal quests.

Then I really need to find myself a new hobby

yeah it really sucks that its character bound.

It makes no sense to need 3000 done to be a guide. After you’ve done one of the old intro zones you’ve already seen all types of quests there is

They should change it to loremaster because it’s accountwide.
