We all know the reason why, it’s for a financial reason on Blizzard’s end.
At first I wasn’t sure why UK was singled out. Then I realised we were just guinea pigs for a bigger change for the EU. I was not happy about the changes when they were implemented here. I used to enjoy gifting game time to my friends, and now it’s way too much to consider even doing that 
I honestly wish we had a bit more of an explanation from blizzard but I doubt we will get one. But yeah, I guess it’s just get used to it or don’t at this stage.

Well that’s me unsubscribing then ! I dont have a credit card and I dont use paypal and dont want to use it, used the phone payment option for a month every month, this expansion is on the way to be the worse expansion ever, good going

My guess is that they hope more people buy the 1 month sub plan. . .and forget to cancel their sub afterwards. Just blizzard doing blizzardy stuff lol.
I thing the issue is somewhere else, not waiting for someone forget to unsub,
for the financial reporting is easier to predict income on subscription not on gametime option

I have never stated that this is consumer friendly as I don’t believe that restricting ways to pay can ever be called consumer friendly but it is a step from there to the high vitriol that is being poured out on this subject.
As for other part, as we are talking about a digital product here, they aren’t physical game time cards, then one would assume that most people buying these are either using a Debit/Credit Card or PayPal already or converting Tokens to Blizz Balance. So a lot of these people probably already have the means to change to a sub if they chose to do so.

This is another predatory monetization method by Activision. There are countless studies that confirm how many people, for one reason or another, forget to cancel their subscription to all kinds of services and get charged extra fees completely unaware until they see their bank statement.
It’s easy to blame those that fall into this trap but when a business actively goes out its way to herd customers into a subscription model it’s obvious they want to snare them.

. They want to see some increase in revenue since shadowlands went downhill realy fast . In my opinion- reducing options for customers is always bad so defending this you realy need to be a hard shill or love being second class customer.

They said “it was not possible to do” but as soon as I canceled my sub, they said they will do an exception.
Sure, was one of the reason I quitted tbh. Their store price are insane and they treat customer that spent (idk and don’t wanna know how much over the years) like someone that never spent a penny and is trying to steal on them or something. Freaking disgusting.
It’s not that the cost is higher but what if you don’t want to play the extra month? You basically wasted 13 euros out of 26.
Giving option to the customer is important.

I predicted this would happen when it happened in the UK and you all said no it won’t or laughed at us for having to pay for 2 months when buying gametime. Well, right back at ya.
All you need to do is add a subscription and then cancel it after the money is taken every month. Voilà, a single monthly payment. But no, that’s too much work for you even though it takes 30 seconds.
