I don't expect the Alliance Knights to reapply as squires. But we will remember who stayed true to the Order and those who "renounced" it during those times..07/09/2018 00:40Posted by Fairbanks'Paladins' that left the Order during legion because it was 'neutral'. But are willing to come back now?
So. Something I hope that does not happen as it will cheapen the aspect of the Knights of the Silver Hand, and that is the 'Paladins' that left the Order during legion because it was 'neutral'. But are willing to come back now?
No sorry. I don't think the Silver Hand works like that. You might be welcome to join back, as a Squire.
The cycle of life can be so cruel.
I would personally recommend not to put it as being a squire, but marking them some other way.07/09/2018 00:40Posted by FairbanksSo. Instead, you can put focus on the paladins having absolved themselves from the Silver Hand during it's period of neutrality. Of being 'released' and letting people figure out for themselves that you mean that as a derogatory.
For example, being 'Free Paladins' or 'Unbound Knights' or something to that effect. Kind of like being rhonin, except for playing fast and loose with membership of the Silver Hand, as opposed to whether you have a master. That way, you give RPers the opportunity to differentiate themselves while sounding cool, without denying that there is beef between the factions of the Silver Hand.
I want to say that they should be called 'Oathbreakers' and to allow those paladins that left the order to adopt that moniker and champion it. But I guess it's kind of muddy what oaths would be broken if it's the Silver Hand that opted for neutrality during Legion.
EDIT: Let people stick to their guns and be marked with their decisions. It can continue to be a deal in the future! Beef is good!

So. There are a couple of details that should be addressed and chief among them is I do not consider myself an expert on this topic at the time of writing this.
Next Delas was a priestess of Elune however she says this in her quest text:
Highlord <name>, if I could have a moment of your time?
Long have I followed the path of the Light, and for many years I studied under the Priestesses of the Moon. Yet, I have always felt my education incomplete, and a yearning to know more.
When I walked into these halls, I finally felt a spark of what was missing. I believe that a new path lies before me.
I wish to become a paladin of the Silver Hand. Will you allow me to join you?
This seems to infer she is a follower of the Light and has dedicated herself to the order of the silver hand. She is even inducted in a ceremony that resembles an abbreviated version of the induction ceremony from the old novels.
The next quest seems to confirm her converting from elune to the Light
Highlord, I am proud to begin the first steps of this new journey.
Thank you for taking me under your wing. I vow to follow the guiding principles - to act honorably, to uphold what is righteous, to fight against injustice, and to celebrate with my new brothers and sisters of the Silver Hand.
Under the Light, we stand as one!
This might seem odd however we do know that Night Elf culture has started to be worn down by their presence in the Alliance.
In conclusion:
I think night elf paladins are a thing that are likely being trained.
They are expected to follow the Light.
They are expected to act as other Knights of the Silver Hand.
They are part of the Knights of the Silver Hand.
So thats my opinion.
To quibble, shes also the only (living) one of her kind. Until we see any other examples of them canonised (hurr hurr) I dont think we should treat her as more than a one off.
Especially with the Burning of Teldrassil, I would suggest its more likely the Night Elves would cling more to their culture and heritage now more than ever, rather than experimenting and contemplating radical changes.
Also the eternal caveat; take Blizz writing with a pinch of salt, since they adopted 'rule of cool for one expac' rather than any sense of consistent lore...

I think its still fine to RP a one off. And I dont see nelf paladins becoming a frequent sight that would overwhelm the community rather than remain an oddity.
So I am infavour I think of just letting it be and taking on those who want to join.

I, frankly, have to disagree; mainly due to two different reasons;
1.) After Delas Moonfang is recruited she has an ability "Seal of Elune", for me, indicating she still believes or atleast hold reverance to the Moon-Goddess.
2.) The Light, An'she and Elune are often used in similiar fashion. Anduin states in Before the Storm that he believes the Kaldorei follow the Light through Elune, like the Sunwalkers do through the worship of An'she. I highly doubt every Kaldorei Priest is a Light-Priest, yet they were thrown in the same Order as the, mostly, Holy Light believers. If the Priests of different cultures can work together, it wouldn't be such a stretch for a more martial Moon-Priestess to join the Silver Hand, wouldn't it?
Sorry if I go way to deep into this, but I find it a interesting topic and I wondered if you had thought of it. I know you hadn't put much thought in it, and I leave it, ofcourse, all up to yourself what you do with it ;)
(Also what about the Kaldorei Argent Crusaders, did they all just up and left their worship of Elune behind in favor of the Light? Because that would indicate the Argent Taurens and Orcs left their reverence for their ancestors and the Earthmother behind to?)
09/09/2018 10:12Posted by Moridunum1.) After Delas Moonfang is recruited she has an ability "Seal of Elune", for me, indicating she still believes or atleast hold reverance to the Moon-Goddess.
You have corrected me. As I say I'm not much of an expert on this topic. Seeing as she has the seal of elune, then yeah, I'd say she's a paladin of Elune.
As for:
09/09/2018 10:12Posted by Moridunumit wouldn't be such a stretch for a more martial Moon-Priestess to join the Silver Hand, wouldn't it?
It depends. In Legion it'd be no stretch at all. However now that Legion is over we have to question if the morals of the Silver Hand as seen in Stromgarde have reverted to their origional ways. If so then there is a requirement to spread the word of the Light. For a kal dorei this could easily by 'Spread the word of the Light of Elune.' Job done. And I think I'd ere on that side.
Given there is no official order of night elf paladins (yet) I'd assume that they are part of the Silver Hand currently. But as before, a very very small part of the order.
I think thats the minimum effort answer which is, I think the best answer given the minimal information.

No worries, I am no expert on the matter to! I was just curious as to what your stance was on said lore-development!

I'm inclined to say the same, for aslong as we don't see any of these Kaldorei "Paladins" return to the Moon-Priestessess.
And I agree on the fact that, if they are members, it would likely be a handfull instead of a "full force" of Paladins.
I have t onote, though; that I have yet to see an Kaldorei Warrior(or other class) who RP's someone who "followed" the same path as Delas Moonfang. again, I was just curious on your view of the subject ;)

I think it's cool. As long as they remain loyal to Elune and her teachings. There's not a lot to go off though. To me it's a heavily armoured priestess of elune who takes a lot of inspiration from a Human and Dwarf Paladin
Fought one during the Battle for Lordaeron. It was neat. It didn't go overboard, in my opinion, and it was a nice blend of both Silver Hand and Kaldorei aesthetics.09/09/2018 12:55Posted by MoridunumI have t onote, though; that I have yet to see an Kaldorei Warrior(or other class) who RP's someone who "followed" the same path as Delas Moonfang. again, I was just curious on your view of the subject ;)
