I spent hour looking for a group, waiting for healers and playing game that we barely won only to get +4 rating. Is this some kind of joke? I don’t care if it is because of hidden MMR, it’s bull***t and waste of time.
I have a brilliant idea, let casual PVP players earn better gear too in other ways. And instead of locking new mounts behind paywall, give them to players as reward for playing rated PVP.
But I know that Blizzard doesn’t care about PVP players - arenas are full of boosters, balance is garbage, amount of PVP content is laughable, world PVP is basically non existent (If you don’t count killing poor players minding their own business in the middle of quests) so I doubt they will do anything and I am not going to renew my subscription.
I have a similar experience. I was doing my RBGs, we won and I got like +6 rating, next game we lost and the rating dropped for -18 or something like that. Since then I do only random BG for fun…
Its called boost… if you want to push ladder you need to avoid it.
You can take same example with arena as well. Most people are using lfg tool to push arena cr.
They dont have a stable team from start of season to play 3v3. When this happens each arena partner they invite to group from lfg tool drops their mmr. Then you might see some people with 211 wins 146 loses 2250 cr.
Because these people played with lfg and every new player joined their 3v3 group dropped down their mmr.
To avoid this make guild rbg / arena runs. Play always same 10 people on rbgs or same 3 people on 3v3.
As soon as someone new will join they will drop your mmr. You can get 0 cr from win too even tho you won.
On bfa season 2 , I was 1850 cr on alt. I just needed wins to farm the rated pvp mounts.
I joined a lfg team we won 3 in a row. All games gave me 0 cr increase. Because entire team was low cr players when I was 1850.
I played all my games at 2100-2400 MMR. Due to my limited number of games my CR didnt catch up.
So if i would play with you i would massively boost your matchmaking. Even tho at a first glance were at an equal footing if you look at CR.
You lose/gain CR based on the average MMR of your opponents. With better MMR (not CR) of your own teammates you will play vs higher MMR teams and lose less / win more CR.
Player A: 1850 CR 80% win-rate can mean this player started playing at 1200 MMR and won pretty much everything up till 1800. At 1800-1900 he started to face tougher competition and lose 50% of his games. Resulting in him evening out at 1850.
Player B: 1850 CR with 50% winratio can mean this player played 100% of his games at 3000 MMR and won 50% of his games vs the best teams in the world. Due to lack of games played his CR didnt catch up to his MMR yet.
Which player would you prefer to invite if you wanted to push rating?
Liscc is right here, its not about your CR or w/l ratio, your char has a internal mmr depending on what mmr you’ve Been playing on, which the biggest deciding factor in your rating change
1 person with 0 CR in the group won’t have that effect it would have to be 3 people much lower than the rest. Tip for anyone wishing to succeed in RBG, make your own group and only invite people who got over 2k in arena this season. But if you are hard stuck at 1.4 in Arena don’t expect good people to join your RBG group to carry.
