Largely the same here on main and alt. Made worse by the fact that I can’t get S4 tier for a month.
Why not just do Mythic 0s for gear? then you can actually do high key pushes.
I don’t mind doing +2 / +3 / +4 keys. Pointless doing normal Mythics when I can just do low keys instead and “get” better gear.
Rng. I looted 1 item and did 7 keys. Friend of mine looted 5 items for 6 keys.
You mean that gear you’re not getting?
You mean that gear you’re not getting?
That’s why I quoted “get”. It’s pointless doing normal Mythic just for a slight upgrade. Again, it’s not the point of the thread.
Play the game more is the key for keys duh
If 2 - 5 keys exhaust you, dont even bother queueing up

Some of us actually have lives lol.

I never said they exhaust me?
Just completed my 8th Mythic+. I got a drop! And it was an item I already had… Blizz trolling me.
I think you are overestimating something. My irl friends, dont want to waste time either and only have time for playing mains.
And besides noone wants to help another player, irl, friend or foe, to hdlp gearing an alt that he or she never touches again. Time is an issue and getting 1 rng loot in 5 dgs is simply not respecting players time in my oppinion.

Exactly. My friend plays feral and only wants to play feral.
The wowhead just dropped the costs for upgrading the legendary and turns out I was right all along since the cost of flightstones is huge
Raid really feels like the most unrewarding content to do.
Oh yes. Unless it’s in a guild setting where you raid weekly with the same people ofc, like I do in classic. But puggin in retail? I’m honestly happy when I walk out with 1 item. At this point I just raid for crests, flightstones and maybe vault, but even that option is less than m+ spam
Even with guild it’s been awful. At least I did manage to get one thing from Nm and one thing from Hc.
But I’ve had most gear from M+.
Adding a counter that counts each key you didn’t get a drop (not including trades) and increases the drop chance for an item in a run for each key prior that didn’t drop something would definitely help.
Let’s say, default drop chance is (for this example) 10%. Each key adds 5% if completed but untimed while each timed key increases it by 10%.
That means:
- 10% → 20% → 30% → 40% → etc. counting only timed keys
- 10% → 15% → 20% → 25% → etc. counting only untimed keys.
- 10% → 20% → 25% → 30% → etc. when counting both.
Sounds to me quite fair. Idk tho if such a system is already in place.
This would go completely havoc… People would try to take advantage of this, by speed running low keys, stacking up % and THEN going into the dungeon that gives them a BiS drop that now has super high drop chance…
we’re not talking about saving crests, we’re talking about loot drops in Mythic+
Actually… When saying something is “useless” you no longer are talking “loot drops”… You’re talking about basically anything that is related to the drop…
It really is baffling, that someone can say something so unharmful as “Hey the weapon will save you crests” and you guys just go full ham xD

That would be risky, no?
Because if you drop an item on the low level dungeon, you will have to do more dungeons to get another desired ilvl drop.

Whats the risk? Lets say you have whatever key gives you the highest gear… Thats 1 chance… That would be the risk.
You farming low keys for 2 runs gives you already 10% higher chance… Now imagine if its a caster trinket and its a premade…
You go in, tank + caster + caster + caster and priest/druid/shaman healer that goes dps loot spec (boomie, spriest, ele)… Now 2-3 of the group members will have an increased 5%… Lets say next run 1 of those gets gear, so its still 2 people eligable for the trinket that gets 10% chance while it can still drop for the other 2… You see how it all of a sudden gives an advantage to the people willing to grind / farm to get an advantage?
It would be like BFA, when guilds would do armor stack raid runs and just buying off pieces off of people, getting stacked in no time…
Perhaps I worded it wrong.
Lets say you decided to do 2 low key dungeons but got the drop on that 2nd run, which would reset the drop chance increase, forcing you to do more dungeons. Think I managed to word it better now.

Then make it key-level restricted?
Have each key level track it individually and the problem you mentioned is poof gone…
Drops are plentiful in M+. You just need to keep farming them.
