Shamans are masters of the elements and there are three specs using different themes. Ele is fire themed, Enhancement is air themed and restoration is water themed. I base it on Ascendance forms and our class mounts we got in Legion.
The element that is missing is Earth. Can we get Guardian spec for Shaman with 2 hand? A lot of people want 2 hand spec for shaman but I don’t believe that old 2 hand WF spec would fit the current meta. Instead we can recycle spells like Boulder Smash and use weapon enhancement - Rockbitter. There are also Stoneskin Totem, Stoneclaw Totem that can be some def CDs for him and of course Rock themed Ascendance. It would have a lot of sense in my opinion and would make some 2 handed Shaman fans happy.
Enhancer could easily go with Polearms and Staves, much like SV and WW.
Also wouldn’t match the defensive style.
You have all those rock and stone spells to increase your defence and soak damage, like a mobile fortress. A Shield would further improve that style.
Yeah, I think instead of new classes blizz should start introduce more specs. Tank shaman with earth magic would be a nice obvious choice. There are enough ways to make it entertaining with earth magic. A tank shaman can have for example:
Summonable empowered version of dwayne that takes part of damage your shaman take and can actually tank mobs on his own
A way to hold aggro of range mobs and being somewhat unique ranged tank (like in SWTOR)
Summon 2 rock hands that crash into each other and drag mobs together and stun them after crash
Ascendance that empowers tankieness and damage, causing wide area earthquake around you
Make Earthquake slow aswell
Add some metal bending abilities? some sort of magnetic pull
Basically a ranged tank that focuses around kiting and tanking many mobs at once with strong defense cooldowns
Shamans is the “mirror class” to Druid, and they have a tank spec so why not. I would have no doubt in my mind that Shaman is my “forever main” if it had that. I can imagine a type of earth bender using earth shields and barriers mixed in with earth elementals. Amaaaazing!
I always thought Shaman is a reflection of Paladin. That’s why I think Paladin should get caster spec too. There are spells like Denounce and Exorcism that are not in use anymore.
I would rather say not caster but some sort of inquisitor spec with crossbow would be cool. Like plate ranged type with crossbow/gun shooting holy bolts. Or maybe I played too much wh
Mage and Lock are extremely different for me. It’s probably just pov but anyway I’d love to see tank spec for Shaman.
To be honest I don’t connect inquisitors with crossbows. I was rather thinking about 1h + shield caster and my idea was also to call it Inquisitor since there were spells like Inquisition, Exorcism, Denounce in the game that were casted damage and a lot of people are missing Shockadin build that was a gimmick back then but why not go for this spec fantasy and make a spec that would focus on casted damage.
Full support. Add earth element ad tank spec and i have perfect class, as I dont like druid so much. Oh boi… Good to dream about it, but it will never happen…
