4th spec concepts

I know, I know it’s never going to happen but purely for some fun and creativity what ideas do you have if Blizzard decided to give everyone an extra spec to match our druid friends?
The exception being DH’s, probably too much to think of two more!

Death Knight - Necromancer
Make unholy more disease and rot focused to open the door to a pure ranged undead summoning plate caster.

Mage - Time
Manipulate time to heal wounds and buff raid members

Hunter - Shadow hunter
Ranged, Petless, shadow arrows. Can dual weild crossbows?

Shaman - Earth Warder
Pretty much a fan favourite. Shaman tank utilising earth abilities to protect himself and his allies.

Monk - ?
Mistweavers abilities should be shuffled into the theme of Chi-Ji more to give Monks a Yu’lon themed ranged DPS spec. Using chi spells, jade lightning, dragonfire etc.

Warlock - Void
Summons a bigger and better Voidwalker to be the first pet focused Tank spec.

Paladin - Justice
Ranged DPS weilding holy fire.

Warrior - Spartan
Sword and board DPS spec.

Priests, rogues and DH’s are the ones I struggle with

Let me just point out some problems I have with your ideas.

DK Necromancer - Unholy has always been about pets and debuffs, gutting it’s summonings and pets would make it even worse to play. The only difference between a necromancer and a warlock would be plate armour and undead instead of demons.

Shadow Hunter - Basically just an MM hunter with more shadow themes and lone wolf baseline.

Monk - No, just no. The themes of MW are already divergent enough between them, so any more would leave too little substance in the spec.

Voidlock - Pet AI is so bad that I would not trust a pet tank class, you also can’t make them too void without stepping on the Spriest toes.

Justice - So, basically just a DPS orientated holy priest?

Spartan - They try too hard to distinguish Arms and Fury already, we don’t need a 3rd to muddy the waters further.

Chronomancer/Earthwarder - I don’t actually have any problems with these as they would actually work without stealing too much from other specs.

I have no idea where this 4th specc stuff stems from, and whilst you have some fun concepts in here there remains a question for me.

4th specc for all classes would equal 4 completely new classes in terms of specc. I know which I’d rather have. Hell I’d love to see two Alliance classes and two Horde classes. Yes, exclusive.

Inquisitor for Priest. A Holy dps spec, themed in a similar way as the Scarlet Crusade.

I always wanted something like that. It feels as if the tools are kind of there, with Smite, Holy Fire, Penance, and so on.

In Heroes of the Storm you can play as Sally Whitemane from the Scarlet Monastery.
And she has abilities called Zeal, Inquisition, Searing Lash, Scarlet Aegis, and Divine Reckoning.

I always liked that hero in HotS, and would have loved if Priests in WoW had a similar theme.

I know I saw this exact thing on Reddit months ago, only the guy had a proper diagram with Art and icons and everything.

At least give the person credit, or if you are the guy, link the artwork.

Monk - Super Sayian

You get golden hair, can fly without a mount and you can just blast at things like yeeaaaah boi.

4th hunter spec = old ranged survival. I would become number 1 blizzard fanboy if they brought that back.

Honestly I’m the opposite lol. Take away some specs, and focus on the ones left improving them and balancing them better.

There’s way too many classes and specs, have a spec squish!

Oh I love those here are some contributions!

Mage - ( Dps ) Warmage

Magic and weapons, like a SMF warrior but very fast, teleports around, protects themselves with barriers and enhances their weapons with magic and hurl around quick casts inbetween attacks.

Mage - Illusionist ( DPS ) ( What arcane should’ve been! )

Master of the arcane and trickery, they excel at confusing enemies and dealing quick arcane damage, focus is on creating illusions that mimic you to confuse enemies and deal arcane damage.

Mage - Summoner ( dps / can be tank )

these mages focus on summoning various elementals and familiars to do their bidding, could go one of three ways, many summons to act as pets, summons that cast spells for them or a unique summon that fights for them ( could be a stand alone class actually xD )

Rogue - Gunner ( Dps )

Dual pistols close to midrange spec, they dash, jump around and unleash barrages of attacks

Rogue - Trickster ( Can be Tank / Dps )

A master of trickery, these rogues resort to the lowest of the low to get things done, they known to be extremely evasive, and excel in weakening and exploiting the enemy.

Rogue - Warden ( Can be dps / tank )

Look at maiev!

Shaman - Earth Warden ( Tank )

Shaman that uses the elements to empower themselves, focus on lighting shield etc.

Warrior - Gladiator ( Dps )

Sword on board damage dealer

Warrior - Duelist ( Dps )

One handed sword user, smart, tactical and precise they utilize the usage of a one handed sword and support from their other hand in many unique ways, either by grabbing the weapon with two hands for increased damage, using the hand to create openings in the opponent etc, a cool way to show it is by looking at Lothar vs blackhand fight in the movie.

Hunter - Shadow hunter ( dps )

Voodoo, hex vol’jin like spec that uses glaives.

Hunter - Dark Ranger ( dps )

focus on dark arrows, ressing dead enemies as minions and fusing attacks with dark magic

Hunter - Ranger ( Dps )

Mix of melee and range, they are very agile and focus in jumping in, dealing a flurry then bouncing back to unleash a heavy barrage of attacks

Warlock - Defiler/ Harvester ( Tank )

Warlock that empowers themselves by defiling those around them, they are the worst of the worst, they abuse demons and suck out their demon souls to give them special power, often taking the forms of the demons whose unfortunate souls they have stolen, these warlocks use their hands as power to absorb the life from anything they touch, they are a nightmare. ( A cool representation of them is the guldan spam sucking the life of that poor human and a lil bit guldan vs duratan in the movie )

Priest or paladin - Inquisitor ( dps )

Holy damage dealer they excel at using the light to burn the heretics!
priest could be the ranged version while paladin could be melee version

Demon hunter - Sacrifice ( healer )

Demon hunters have learned to sacrifice everything to reach their goals, these demon hunters use the demonic powers they posses to rip and tear the enemies essense and turns it to power for their allies, focus on melee attacking to heal team, and using ones own health to greatly heal the team

Monk - Weaver ( dps )

Ranged dps monks that use jade powers to fight

thank you i think monk needs this specc since MoP because of the unbalance overall.
Xuen = Windwalker
Niuzao = Brewmaster
Chi-Ji = Mistweaver
Yu’lon = xx

Hunter: Old SV back, this was also my most amstered and prefered spec to play after all the pruning in WoD. I still miss the SV spec, also bringing back deadzone? NP! It never was hard or really big along with going petless it encouraged me to use traps and made me a god at kiting in that spec.

Paladin: Shockadin, idea is like disipline for priest. half dps and half healer.

Mage: Spellblad, melee mage who empowers weapons, summon temporary minions and create explosions instead of pure casting (see Spellblade Aluriel).

DH: Ranged DH like in DIII, be carefull not too make it too much the same as SV was. So demonic infused abilities and pet summon focus?

Shaman: Tank class? Summon class? Have elementals being summoned and empowered to do tanking.

Warlock: Necromancer (remember undead come from BL experiments in Suramar during the WotA).

Monk: Spellcaster, Yu’lon’s specs is missing.

For the rest not really a clue.

Well i suppose i could throw an idea i had for a while now, in this thread.

It was a spec relying primarily on buffing it’s allies and debuffing it’s enemies. Sort of a callback to the old school Vanilla warlocks. Because sometimes enabling others to do more can be rewarding.

I also played around with blood mage spec for warlocks, which would use it’s hp as the primary resource, however it has the issue of the argument “Why didn’t you use this to spice up blood DK”

However a combination of the two could work pretty reasonably well on a thematic level. Where you utilise blood magic to buff your alies and let’s say apply a debuff to enemies that makes it so that they take more damage for the duration and tehn it explodes based ont eh damage tehy have taken.

There also are a lot of blood magic animations, with all the Nazmir stuff.

Mage healer and shaman tank would be awesome tbh!

If there is a class that I could see deserve a tank spec, it is the shaman. It’s really suitable I think.

That time spec looks nice, i don’t care for anything else.

We already have to many specs. Need to remove some not add more.

So… Necromancer/caster themed spec for DK and a green fire esque glyph for warlocks that replaces your minions then.

Otherwise, Rogue, Hunter Mage and Warlock could really need something other than a dps spec, always so discouraging playing those classes while being stuck with 15+ min queues for most of the game.

Disc Priest Tank Spec, something I’d love to try out.

Other than that I have played MMOs with some great support classes, such as Captain in LOTRO, however I don’t know if support classes would wash in current wow.

I agree, however again like Paladin, Monk, and Druid, it would be a spec getting the trinity role.

Actually, love this idea so much. Gnome mages will get on a whole new level, little Chromies.

Let me “fix” your proposal.

Death Knight - Plague
A healing spec utilizing pathogens and pain suppressing diseases to aid their allies. UDK was always a pet spec, it is the Necromancer class of WoW.

Mage - Spellblade / Chronomancy
Becoming a melee cloth magic user, boosting the downsides of their basis with arcane/frost/fire. Prime example - Aluriel from NH.
Or a Chronomancer like Elisande, manipulating time-stream to a degree to heal allies.
Both is fine with me.

Hunter - Survival.
Bring back old Survival and rename it to “Predatory” os sth. And make an actual spec centered around surviving, meaning a tank spec based on dodging, pet-tanking and self-healing with shrooms.

Shaman - Earth Warden
Naturally, an Earth focused tank spec. Stone Wall, Earth Armor, Sinking Sands and so forth to both tank and debuff enemy and even break FoV.

Monk - Bowmaster
Yes, a ranged spec utilising both Chi and Bow to deal dps.

Warlock - Voidmancer
Tank utilising the shadow realm, either by using small void gates to swallow incoming attacks or allowing the Voidwalker to partially posses his body gaining tanking abilities at the cost of constantly dropping HP.

Paladin - Exorcist / Justicar.
Good ol’Shockadin. Using the power of a light to blast his enemies.

Warrior - Gladiator
Remember old talent by that name and what it did? Yeah, exacly that.

Priest - Shadow Hunter
A priest spec utilizing glaives as a weapon and voodoo. Shadow Hunters are not hunters, they are spiritual leaders of the trolls, kinda like Priests.

Rogue - Combat
A rogue type of warior, utilizing longer blades over daggers and trained in actual combat and not subtle manners of disposing of enemy swiftly. Able to off-tank for a time being if needed, but still not being a fullfledged tank - a hybrid one could say.

DH - Redemption
A support spec, mixing both some dps and lots of utility. Not a healer, a support.
Holy trinity is an outdated concept anyways.
