Dew to freshly developed innovative “5-6 second in-game freezes” in patch 11.1 im now bricking mythic keys, failing raid mechanics and having quality blizzard-standard gaming time.
When will the devs expand on this unique (maybe extend freezes to 10-12 seconds) feature or add some more similar content, like randomly disconnect players from the game to relive exiting moments of logging in back? I run my game on ancient Nvidia 3080, windows 11, Intel i7 Processor, 32 gb of ram and its on SSD.
Have you checked your CPU and peak CPU usage in game?
If you’re experiencing that long freezes so frequently, it’s most likely not due the game itself. There could be several reasons, but most common include:
Addons or WA’s are out-dated or somehow with the buggy code
Addons, like Details, are scanning your combat log too often (or too aggressively in general)
Your GPU might be running out of VRAM, which causes your GPU to loan memory from your PC itself
There’s something else running in your PC’s background, eating memory and causing CPU spikes
At first I would start by disabling Addons you do not need at all (or disabling them all, then enabling one by one to see if the problem occurs). Also check CurseForge or WoWUp that all Addons have been updated - and check Wago or WeakAuras Companion for WeakAuras updates.
If you’re using Details, like mentioned above, decrease refreshing time from default 0,2 seconds to at least 1 seconds (I am using it at 2,5 seconds, which I strongly suggest). 0,2 sec means it reads your combat log all the time, really pushing it to limits.
You could also decrease your graphics settings a bit to see if the problem persists.
Make sure you have updated your GPU drivers to most current, and that your PC is up-to-date by checking Windows Update for any potential updates.
Also: Open Windows Task Manager. Check which processes there are running while playing WoW, also check how many cores are in use on your CPU while playing WoW. There shouldn’t be too many.
