I am experienced from almost all expansions and what i’ve seen is that during every single season is those healers with most healing without being forced to cast or instead of heals use things like damage absorbs or damage reduction and been taking less damage than usual, and some of these CDs even heals during its uptime!
And all classes have some sort of defensive with somewhere between 20%(barkskin and fortified skin for monks but 15% and 15% bonus hp) and up to 40% from pain sup that discs has, with a big heal in same use from their conduit and plus the aoe barrier that is reducing 50% dmg for all players inside for 10 seconds, on a 1,5 min cd, and also getting 15% physical dmg taken reduced from PwShield by pvp talent and 15% from focused will that stacks to 2 for simply have 30% base reduce as dmg taken, and still have 2 charges of radiance that heals for 8-9k instantly for 5 ppl on a cost of mana likeworthy a renewing mist + enveloping mist combined , and still do disc have the most effective heal in penence that on my 220+ priest does 10k healing in less then 2s!
and now a short comparing against palas who have bubble, wings, bop bop, huge dmg, 20000k more mana it feels like and then this WoG, which is an exactly type of heal we miss in the healingtoolkit for pvp, but if we should talk about the topic now for gods sake!
WE have a good viable and already clear spec in brewmaster there they just could use these types of defensive abilitys and we defenitly should have stagger as base and a base dodge chance above 20% plus parry/counterattack as baseline since its martial arts based class, and blackout kick could be a more usefull kick if it made them blackout for a second and therafter have a debuff for 5 sec with a 20% slower both and reduced attackspeed with same % to miss their attacks , and tigerpalm would instead of debuff them to take 5 % more dmg, rather be a 5% damage reduction they do against all that stacks to 3 stacks and they do 15% melee damage reduced from it!
and why we have been having the kick before, is it almost a shame that we dont have it now!
and make life cocoon from 12 sec to 8 sec, and 40% base hp absorb with 50% REDUCED DMG TAKEN instead of HoT increased that we dont usually get out to much from…
exploding keg - 1 m cd that does 8k dmg but since we are healingspec it should be doing maybe 2-3 k and all damage while the enemies hit are disoriented are converted to healing for 250% split evenly to the caster and 3 nearest allys
Celestial brew - 1 min cd and absorb 14k over 6 seconds and if using purifying brew before it shall increase the size on next celestial brew up to 200% depending on stored damage in stagger!
And with a heal that garantee a 10k hit but on cost of 4 chi , wouldnt soothing mist become like an penence but in 4 sec channel (possible while moving) and the redcrane that get shosen for fistweaving are a baseline that casting heals even if i standing jurking off, but copys my healing and get the mastery aswell to proc from that copied heal…
i just see that we miss shorter defensive options and a instant heal that tops a low target!
let me hear your thoughts and remember this is just brainstorming and i also are in discussion with a friend on the glyphs back in the days but with alot more alternative plus 1 pvp and 1 pve circle that only works in either content their made for !
