I was being nosy & was inspecting the statistics of random people when I stumbled across somebody with 5.4 million “average gold earned per day”, as per the image below (name hidden of course!)
That seemed like a crazy high sum to me - especially given I only inspected a few random people, which made me wonder… Is there anyone here who beats this figure?
Or someone that shifted gold around for a boosting community. Which would make this number actually peanuts given how much they used to and still are juggling around.
As far as AH players are concerned: Magicuz was sitting on 5 billion at the end of BFA.
If you buy a billion golds worth of stuff off the AH and then sell it for a billion and one gold then a billion a one gold is “earned” according to this. Really you’ve earned one gold (the difference between the two) but the game isn’t an accounting simulator so the nuance is lost.
But even if i take my 4.3k on my rogue and update them all the way up to where the guy in the screenshot is i wouldnt be anywhere close to the total gold acquired. Also it would require that if that gold is from auctions only that his auctions had an average sell value of 19943. I dont see this happening. Unless he was controlling the high price market such as the BoE Mythic one.
I’m not sure if the “Auctions Posted” number includes unsold auctions, but if it does, presumably the average sale price is going to be much higher. Given the highest auction sold is near gold cap, I wonder if it’s partly from flipping TCG mounts - hopefully not connected to the duping fiasco many expansions ago!
Recently found out that BMAH players inspect eachother to see these statistics and kinda know if the person next to them has a chance on outbidding them or not Had no idea this information was available either.
But 5 million A DAY… is insane. I’m happy with 10k in a day
