WoW Housing: It’s Only Neighborly

So far in our series of articles, we’ve shared information on our philosophy, decorating, and rewards for Housing in World of Warcraft, but it’s time to bring you into the Neighborhood. Briefly mentioned in our first post on Housing, it’s time to get into the nitty-gritty of what Neighborhoods are and what you can expect from them.

Just going to put this out there… we should be able to break into our neighbours homes and steal their stuff and then move to another location before the Gnome Police arrive!

What happens if multiple people desire the same plot in a guild neighbourhood because of its location? Will it phase multiple copies of the same plot for us to decorate?

Well, Puny, there goes your own private neighbourhood.

Yup was reading that.

This sounds like a complete nightmare, you need an active bunch of people who will keep using the feature to make the most of it.

Well I can live next door if you like?

I am sure that I wont be some stalking weirdo creep or anything…nop…not at all! :troll:

I’m going to say it because we’re all thinking it … Argent Dawn players are going to have a red-light district!

I’m sure it works like this, but i hope you don’t have to be part of the activities regarding Endeavors to get the assets for your house, imagine you’re out for a weekend, and your neighborhood does a multitude of endeavors and you miss out on it!

Just go with a public neighbourhood and put up a “keep off my lawn” sign and make your land and house private :dracthyr_nod: You raid anyway so you will contribute naturally through that by the looks of it and no one can bother you.

I for one am getting more and more hyped for my house!

Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for housing but this is just everything I hate. So I need a neighbourhood where I get a plot I like and need a bunch of degen gamers like me that will do everything.

All this sounds awesome and just as how have expected it to be , but my only worry is whether we will be able to make our own exteriors of the houses or just have 5 options and choose from those , and only be able to decorate on top of uncustomizable house exteriors . Like I play a tauren paladin , and neither a traditional tauren nor a orc hut would fit the theme that I will be going for , but a custom fortress/church/castle model

Again I hope that the reason why all of the houses shown on the bluepost were the same is because they were just showing how the variety of zones can change the feeling even if house is the same , or just that it was a placeholder until they decide to talk more about the exterior customizability

It reads as one a month or so, so plenty of time to catch up.

Faction locking the the neighbourhoods?

If you want an Alliance plot (like me) you have to start it on an Ally char. Then your Horde can use it.

I wonder how these Endeavours will work in Public Neighbourhoods? Who will be the admin? Who will decide what do we want to display for the Neighbourhood?

Edit: It seems the game will generate these randomly.

As for the Argent Dawn, I’d rather see the Red Lights District in their own private neighbourhood, than in the public space of Goldshire. :slightly_smiling_face:

Access permissions just for outdoors and the house? Somehow I’d expected it to be per room.

This has made me pretty angry, so forgive the tone.

It’s a good job I know Puny, who will let me squat in a neighbourhood far away in a corner because otherwise I wouldn’t be participating.

I do NOT want to live in a neighbourhood with random people, where there’s going to be a least one person who thinks growing flowers in a certain nsfw shape is funny. Changing neighbourhoods 500 times isn’t going to erase that.

Why can’t they make it instanced like in ESO or GW2? I blame the people who cried about people being “stuck” in their garrisons because woah is me, I can’t see people in the major city jumping around in circles as they queue for instanced content!

Grrrr! :rage:

It’s not about being funny, it’s all about the creative imagination, bringing art to life!

i wonder where the neighborhoods will be, it seems like from the art next to stormwind somewhere, maybe they’re just adding a landmass next to it? and orgrimmar as well.
