About four months ago there was an offer to renew the subscription for 6 months. With that offer Blizzard was offering a new mount.
My sub ends in a week and I’d like to know if there’s any bonus for a 6 months renewal. If no bonus, I’ll just wait, seeing that SL is still far away from live and there’s quite nothing new to do in the game right now.
So Blizzard / Activision is actually saying that it’s better to buy subscription time with gold than real money since they’re offering absolutely NO incentive to buy a longer subscription.
On a market with a growing MMO competition, it’s strange to see how BlizzAct is doing just nothing to mantain their old / long term / stable customers.
Anyway, 7 days left until my 6 months sub expires and I will not buy another 6 months sub. I’ll just buy it with gold since there’s no advantage by using real money.
Not quite, since there are other MMO’s offering free server access after one-time game purchase, games with better graphics, interesting stories, etc.
Paying is actually optional in most MMO games, unless you want a better reagents bank and paid char cosmetics. In another MMO I actually bought an 120 euro mansion to store my achievements (yup, other games are actually rewarding you with items representing your achievs, that you can showcase in your personal mansion). But ok, those are different games and you like WoW because of the community. But the community is slowly leaving and Blizzard is doing nothing to stop.
BlizzAct is asking for money offering nothing in return compared to other MMO’s. They should be really thinking about it since their population dropped.
I remember the times when the cities were full of players. Now everything looks like during Covid pandemic … out of 230 guildies, we have at max 5-6 online in the evening … and we used to be 50+ online, doing 2 raids at the same time with 2 raid leaders … such beatiful times … I’m still playing wow because of such memories … but from the old 25 team we’re 3 people left playing wow. We’re all 40 years+ so it’s not about age. It’s about losing interest in the game. My other real life and online friends are just playing other games.
I just bought now the 6 months package to get the mount too. For me it didn’t work.
I opened a ticket since when BlizzAct had this offer my account was covered by a 6 month subscription. I cancelled and bought it right now for another 6 months but I didn’t get the Squeakers, the Trickster mount.
We’ll see. Anyway, opening tickets didn’t help at all with any of my problems in the past years. I sincerely doubt it will help in any way now. I’ll keep you informed.
I guess. So. Anyway, I couldn’t buy it when it was on because I was covered by 6 months subscription. I hope they’ll do something about it. It isn’t fair at all for their paying customers.
This would be misstreating their paying customers since a category is at advantage while all other customers, paying the same amount of money, are left with nothing.
I don’t want to play one of those other MMOs. I enjoy playing WoW and I buy a six month sub as it works out cheaper than buying a monthly sub.
Coupled with the fact that my subscription price has only gone up once in the 15 years I have been playing, I think I am getting a very good deal and don’t need a mount thrown in to make it worthwhile
It’s not the mount, because I won’t even use it. I love the mounts I already have.
It’s about the fact that some customers are getting it for free while others aren’t.
I repeated the procedure, like I did 2 months ago. Cancelled my sub, used PayPal to sub again … no mount. Bug ? I don’t know. 6 more days and I’ll find out when the sub will actually expire. In the mean time maybe I’ll get an answer to my ticket.
Thank you all for your replies.
I’ll post the answer to my ticket if any of you are in my situation.
I am not sure what you are saying here. How can you have bought a 6 month subscription if your game time is going to expire in 6 days and why did you cancel it if you have it on 6 monthly recurring already?
The mouse mount was part of a special offer that expired at the end February (iirc). You could have bought the deal - it would have added an extra six months onto what you already had.
