Update Schedule for Anniversary Realms

The Burning Crusade Classic is coming to Anniversary realms, with the Burning Crusade pre-patch arriving next week. Please take note of the following schedule of events.

24-Hour Maintenance for Anniversary realms

In the Europe region, starting at 06:00 CET on Tuesday, January 13, we will take all Anniversary realms offline for maintenance.

Following a 24-hour maintenance period, Anniversary realms will come back online with the Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch.

Realm Transfer Notices

Free character transfers from Anniversary Realms to Classic Era realms will close when Anniversary Realms are taken offline for maintenance.

After that time, players will no longer be able to move their Classic Anniversary characters to Classic Era realms, and characters remaining on Classic Anniversary realms will continue to Burning Crusade Classic.

Until the maintenance period begins, players with characters on Anniversary Hardcore realms can transfer their characters to Normal (non-Hardcore) Anniversary realms, so that those characters will continue to Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary.

If you wish to transfer your character from a Normal Anniversary Realm to a Classic Era realm (character doesn’t advance to Burning Crusade Classic), or from an Anniversary Hardcore realm to a Normal Anniversary realm (character does advance to Burning Crusade Classic, and is no longer a Hardcore character), please do so as soon as possible. Players who wait until the last minute to transfer characters may encounter issues or delays.

Thank you!

And what is the eventual fate of the Anniversary TBC servers?
Era or further progression?

I would also love to know, my choice between era and tbc depends on it :c

Would it be possible to receive some statement regarding pvp rank and rewards. Are you going to do a rank update on Monday like last time, or will it be pointless to farm honor this week? Thanks a lot

Are the hardcore realms included in the 24 hour maintenance period? T_T

Actually another question, will we get the weekly rank update before the pre-patch or no?

They should not be, as they do not progress. But I would NOT play during, or right after maintenance on any HC character (Era included) above level 10

finally an official answer from blizzard would be great. 6 days before prepatch

Will Anniversary Hardcore characters be able to move to Anniversary TBC if they die? Or anywhere?

A 24hour maintenance period, I’m sorry what? Lmao.

After prepatch Anniversary HC characters can only transfer to Era PvE upon death.

Thanks, could not seem to find that info.

Is there any chance that you will revise your decision regarding cloning feature?

You should consider clarifying the message in the launcher as it seems to indicate that all Classic Era realms will be taken down for 24h, while the message here on the forum is quite clear.

Log in screen message said “all realms” not just anniversary.

They will go Lich King.

source?

Now at least let us clone characters to Era for the same price as the boost.

does this take down the Era servers too?

Answering some questions from above in this thread.

  • PvP characters’ current Honor Ranks will be their final ranks prior to the launch of pre-patch next week.

  • The prices on PTR were the costs from the final phase of Burning Crusade Classic in 2022. The prices on the current gear have been increased to match their intended amount for pre-patch.

  • While this pre-patch is a week longer than it was in 2021, we’re also going to double Honor gains, starting on Tuesday when the patch goes live and lasting until February 5 at 3:00 p.m. PST globally.

Why is it different this time? 2021 and vanilla saw a final rank update on pre patch, couldn’t you have included this information in the initial post before people started farming honor lol? Feels like minimum effort from the devs when they won’t even give community managers the info the need.

To put it into perspective, just on EU cluster 1 year and 11 months worth of man hours have already been spent grinding, Blizz literally wasted almost 2 years of time with this late update, from Wednesday till now. That’s a low ball figure going off AV’s in the EU, chances are its much higher. The US player base larger, and I can’t imagine how many years of time have been wasted these past couple days.
