Sorry if this has been answered before, couldn’t find any info.
As we know, with Wotlk the XP curve to get from level 60 to 70 has been changed and you need a lot less experience points to level up in this level range. My question is, what happens on the pre-patch day to characters that have enough xp points to level up in Wotlk, but not in TBC.
Let’s say I’m lvl 60 with 370 500 experience points. On TBC, I need 494 000 experience to level up, so my xp bar is now 3/4 filled. I leave the character as it is until pre-patch. Pre-patch day hits and you need now only 290 000 experience to level up to 61.
Will I:
automatically level up to 61 upon first loging with 80 500 experience
or
stay at 60, at 3/4 of the xp bar and my experience will get adjusted to new curve?
Thanks for answer. That would mean it’s unwise to leave a levelling character mid-level. Having a character at the end of the xp bar and then hitting pre-patch day would be a significant xp loss.
Yeah, but like im said im not 100% sure. I could be wrong.
I personally wouldnt really care that much about it anyway, if my char lost xp or not. But i enjoy wotlk leveling (talents and playstyle) more than tbc leveling. So i would rather just wait with my alts, and level after prepatch.
But if you enjoy tbc leveling, and dont want to waste xp, then i reckon you should prob hit a fresh level.
You will log in and be 1xp to level if you are over the cap.

This is when the xp from 60-70 got reduced.
Yes. XP reduction comes with the pre-patch next week, the EXP boost goes when WoTLK launches. Definitely the best time to finish up any alts you intended to make.
