Bring back Ahab Wheathoof!

Currently playing as a Tauren Druid on the beta, and noticed that Ahab and his quest to find and feed his dog, Kyle, don’t currently exist. I guess this is because Forever has a base in WoW Classic, whilst this quest wasn’t added till later. For anyone that came later to the game, the quest and character were the fulfillment of a Make a Wish request by a kid called Ezra Chatterton, who sadly died of terminal brain cancer in 2008. With both the name and theme of this new version of the game being forever, I hereby request that the quest and character be added, as it’d be a perfect lasting tribute. Who’s with me?

100%, they are adding new quests and tributes like this are truly a part of WoW’s history and memorials like this should be part of Forever. I really hope the devs see this and ensure it is added.

Got a quick question about your taste opinion, Kaivax. Could you forward the following to the WoW Forever devs in regards to feedback for the class survey?

Just saw an video about the latest class option survey for WoW Forever, and here’s how Blizz can make most of their ideas they have:

  1. Add illusionist spell concepts to Arcane spec tree, or turn it into a wholly new mage spec - no need to add a class for sake of it, since realistically there won’t be enough different specialisation flavours to this class.

  2. Same thing with Necromancers, keep them as a new Warlock spec, which replaces Demons with zombies & adds death themed Shadow spells. The class is already more or less there, but swapping ‘muh Demons & Fel’ to the actual Classic dark, shadowy spell caster (including options to choose ‘deathly’ spells) as they ought to be.

More importantly, the Necromancer shouldn’t be “muh cosmic Death” spellcaster at all, but the shadowy caster, hence it can enrich the Warlock class as a spec well.

  3. Create a Sentinel class, which has three specs: Demon Hunter, Warden & Spellbreaker (2x dps & 1 tank spec) - only available on Elves. This resolves the need to incorporate the highly demanded three Warcraft hero classes into the game, as one class.

  4. Rework Death Knight to be more akin to Warcraft 2 & 3 Death Knight & add them in - an unholy version of Retribution Paladin, and incorporate that San’layn class concept being one of its specs. Keep the class as mainly ‘suspicious, unholy’ themed as well. If this class ought to be starting at lvl 1, the class can’t be too obviously just another friendly “cosmic Death spell knight”, they have to have some build up as a class theme towards becoming the dark knight (e.g. sanguine spells at lower level, unholy magics weakening enemies ) via learning more dark & unholy spells in time.

And don’t incorporate the Frost spec into at all. The exception to this could be a future Lich King related content, where more Frost related spells and limited theme spec could be introduced - and let’s be real, no one wants the discount Arthas Frost spec from Retoilet to Forever.

  5. Monk without mystical healing capabilities or magic usage could work as a new Warrior spec, specialised in fist weapons & staves, and using meditation related abilities to heal & empower oneself. And martial arts abilities like black out kick etc. Ideally the spec makes Warrior leather/mail wearer only, and could have the MOP combat animations.

Generally speaking I would prefer not having Monk at all, and most certainly not as “mobility reduced version of Retoilet Monk” - this idea should be binned, but if Blizz seems reason to add theme into Forever, keep it as a spec.

  6. Runemaster could be implemented as class - being race specific for Dwarves & Tauren - but it really requires untying the class from Titan worship/veneration identity, as no racial society does that in WoW. Also, the types of metals as specs, or metalworking related spells (like ‘Reconstruction’ being a healing spell) wouldn’t really fit for any non-Earthen identity. Being the ‘other school of studying mana’ to Mages, imbuing the manipulated power to themselves & their runes, could be more accurate option for the class identity.
Generally speaking not fan of the class concept without a drastic rework from the survey concept.

  7. bin the rest of the survey options, they barely fit into other classes and function barely as one spec at all.

Adding a one-spec themed class is pointless, but the survey options can enhance the already existing classes while “making it necessary” to add only two new classes (Sentinel & Death Knight imo), which are ‘Classic’ themed.

What Forever must avoid at all cost is tying the classes to the Retoilet version’s cosmic powers BS - that ruined both the lore, and the classes and their specs to begin with. Keep the whole cosmic powers concept far away from Forever.
