What are people’s views on the addition of Enchanting Vellum or an equivalent item?

Rather than a vendor item it could be something made through tailoring/leatherworking, in my eyes it would be a welcome addition as it circumvents the interactions with the numerous people spamming “LFW” on repeat or using addons to auto invite people asking about enchants in trade chat - With it being one big server its going to be a spam fest

Having a vellum style item also gets around people who attempt to scam others for enchanting reagents

I want Enchanting Vellums added to Forever.

I know its part of Classic experience to take contact with Enchanter and asking enchants. But did I like it back in 2005-2006? No. Do I like it now? No. When I rolled from priest to mage in Vanilla, I obviously took Tailoring and Enchanting but very rarely used Enchanting for gold making.

The thing about asking Enchanters to make enchants is only negative experience for me. 1) There is always a chance to get scammed, doesnt happen or happens very rarely. But still a chance and its always nervous moment to trade expensive materials. 2) Giving tip isnt part of my culture and its annoying to price the “tip”. 3) Enchanters have to AFK in Cities spamming LFW, which is tedious in long term.

In my opinion it doesnt add that fun social aspect to the game we are looking for. I dont even remember any of the Enchanters after they have done their work. Its not a important part of the game for me. For some people it is probably, but I hope it will get changed.

As an anti scam measure it’s great to add vellum

I think I would like the balance of the wellums being quite expensive to craft and enchanting on a wellum having a long cooldown. Then they would only be used for more expensive enchants (thus preventing scams), can be sold on the AH (but a bit more expensive), and there would still be space for player interactions, both for cheaper (low risk) anchants, and enchanting within a guild or known grouops.

perhaps it should cost 20 silver or 50 silver, for low level enchants it would be expensive, but high level it can be worthwhile and reduces scams on high cost items.

Cooldown i think is too much, but the high cost is enough to detour AH only trades, where friends and guilds would rather face2face

I definitely want them, for these reasons;

1 - I want to be out there in the world adventuring, not hanging around in a city spamming trade chat for work.
2 - Trade chat moves far too quickly to even be seen.
3 - Scammers will scam.
4 - Enchanting is the only trade that can’t post its wares on the AH.

Yes, please. Sometimes I just want simple enchants to help my char get stronger during levelling, like +Stam, Minor movement on boots, etc. Why do I now have to search what mats I need, buy them off the AH, then find an Enchanter, pay him/her (which will not be cheap, because time is money and the Enchanter is there for the money while I am broke and levelling) - only to need to repeat the process 5 levels later ? Which currently makes me not bother with the process and skip it alltogether.

If vellums were a thing:

  1. Enchanter’s levelling skills will not be wasted on a token item into the nether. Currently possibly the only profession that does that - alchemists can still sell every potion they make, same with tailors, even LW and BS can sell some items regularly. Enchanting just destroys your mats for skill points unless you spend your days in Stormwind spamming trade chat for every single skill-up.
  2. Now they can sell them on the AH for some $. Maybe it won’t be much but every little bit helps, both the Enchanter and people levelling and buying those enchants.
  3. Saves time for both the Enchanter (no more trade chat spam) and the people needing those enchants (I can just buy a few of the same and go questing, re-enchanting when new gear drops).
  4. You cannot send enchants to your alts. Even if you have a 300 Enchanter, all your alts have to get theirs from someone else as you cannot meet yourself in game. All those hours levelling wasted.

Don’t know about scammers (I am sure some will try) but as it is now, I will only seek Enchanters face to face when I get to lvl60. Not worth the time until that point.
