Beta Maintenance - 14 October

We’re taking the WoW Forever Beta offline in a few minutes for maintenance. We’re going to run some internal tests, and we don’t expect it to be down for more than a couple of hours.

Beta realms should go offline at 17:00 CEST.

We’ll see you on the other side!

Nice yet another maintenance in the middle of EU gaming time, ready to be complete before US playing time

how long is it ofline

Kinda sucks that for us in the EU we paid for the beta, but ended up getting a full WEEK less playtime than the other regions, because every maintenance was during our playtime in the evening and took until late in the night.

When are you going to do maintenance during US prime time and let us play uninterrupted

Can you not read?

It says they don’t expect it to be longer than a couple of hours.

As for it being inconvenient for EU well ya sux to be us, but it is the start of the working day for them, makes perfect sense to do the maintenance when they have the rest of the day to monitor any changes and respond accordingly.

^ THIS ^

Could we please stop the endless and useless discussion about a beta version and how people willingly paid to play that beta, without informing themselves by refusing to read the conditions under which they will be playing the game?

Much obliged.

Every time I have to run the updater, analyse game files, restart computer. Until I get the idea that maybe the server is down on purpose and is not my fault, which is increasingly difficult since the server is currently online and goes straight to “Choose your gameplay ruleset”, not even a disconnect message this time.

Please communicate downtime better, its a paid beta

its american servers with american staff.

Touch some grass, do some chores in the home, do your nails, wash your hair

We can not expect maintenance in eu timezone on american servers.

Well in fairness it IS in the US.
That’s where the devs actually are!

PDT is what -7?
Beginning of the day for them, so yeah get the reboot and testing done early then there’s the rest of the day to work on things!

so basically all servers are down still?

The Beta is coming back online imminently.

Yes, we all know this is a beta, and yes, everyone voluntarily paid to participate. That applies to both US and EU players.

But that’s not the point.

The real issue is that apparently EU players’ money isn’t worth as much as US players’ money. Every time there’s maintenance, the servers go down right around 5 PM our time, exactly when most European players are getting home from work and finally have time to play.

Meanwhile, the servers conveniently come back online in time for US players to enjoy their evening.

Being in beta doesn’t automatically justify treating one region’s players differently from another. We all paid, we all accepted the beta conditions, and we all deserve equal consideration.

Nobody is demanding a perfect game. We’re asking for fair treatment and reasonable maintenance schedules that don’t constantly disadvantage the same group of players.

A beta is an explanation for bugs and unfinished content, not an excuse for consistently prioritizing one region over another.

But you did knew the beta has only US servers. What did you think it will happen? Developers putting their alarm at 2-3 AM US time to push some changes?

This reminds me of all the people that chose PvP ruleset just to complain nonstop about getting ganked, instead of playing on a PvE ruleset.
