We’re planning to take the WoW Forever Beta down in about 15 minutes, at 22:15 CEST.
This will be a maintenance period that includes deploying and testing a new build of the game, and that build has quite a few changes and fixes.
We’ll have a full update to the Development Notes for you when we get through the updating and the testing. See you on the other side!

Have to admit, unplanned maintenance (or at least very short notice) is a little frustrating.
We don’t even have an estimate for how long?
Do what ya gotta do, it’s Beta at the end of the day…

its not unplanned. today had been the standard day for weekly maintenance.
It’s called. A beta. You know. You’re here for testing, not playing. And to test, they need to make new builds and those builds need to be patched in, regularly, in fact they should have been far more aggressive with their maintenance and had way more to test new things, new idea etc..
Now, everyone and their mother has figured out by now that the patch day has been thursday since the beginning of the beta and that they take servers down between 18.00-24.00. It cannot come as a surprise anymore.
We’ve had maintainance every Thursday so to be expected really.
yep as I told everyone. this was totally expected. Now the exciting part will be how nerfed every racial will be and the amount of crying on the forums! get ready bois

And never answered the question about if it was instead of, or as well as, and then today its a lot later than maintenance has been on thursdays.
This is prime time evenings for most european players, and slim chance it will be back up before midnight if its a new build.
did people complain this much in the first beta we had for wow vanilla ? (i only started when ZG was added)
People will always find something to complain on. Blizzard can give them everything they wanted (read: Retail) and still complain.
Is so dificult updating EU and NA at proper time windows? Everything at the same time doesnt seem a right user at first principle. What about announcing in splash screen in anticipation for the people to plan?
It’s the same servers, we are currently sharing servers with the US, and since the servers are located in the US it’s a lot easier to have them work in the US timezone and have time to fix if something goes wrong.
even if they have remote access something can happen and they may need to physically go to the datacenter it’s located in, unless it’s on prem.
It is ONE set of servers, or “mega server” as they have named it, there are no different realms/regions or otherwise in beta.
no it’s one realm, there are multiple servers (layering) to handle the load.
I’d love to see the server which can run it single handedly.
