Beta was a blast. And one of the features most people probably took for granted was amazing, too: the random name generator. This was especially handy because of mandatory second names.
I recall it being there in WoW’s infancy on the EU side (I started on EU back in 2005, but memory may be a bit sketchy, or I’m just remembering my time on NA before that), but was removed/not added because apparently the RNG was creating names that were offensive in random EMEA languages. Instead of just creating a filter to deal with it, Blizzard completely just removed the option entirely.
With the addition of mandatory second names and the current generator on the NA beta client still creating relatively safe fantasy names (with obvious strong filters in place as many have already discovered) could it please be added back to the EU client? I’m pretty sure the filter is smart enough to pick up something like “Ku Rwa”, anyway and they surely have more than enough non-English speaking employees who could figure something out.
