Argh gosh darn it! I have been doing so well not caving into these, but this one seems to appeal - I must resist!

Low and behold, Blizzard breaking its promise shamelessly!

  • Housing items tied to core fantasies of a player’s race or class, or that already exist in Azeroth, won’t be sold in the shop. Thematically important decor that players know and love will also not appear in the shop.

Go fix the WoW: Forever name reservation and realms/rulesets first before asking for even MORE money. Shameless.

I was just typing if this has been issued now in an attempt to distract from the other early name thread and the issues experienced …

They were always going to. They think the playerbase are stupid and, given that people purchase these items…they ultimately feed into the very problem.

you have plenty of time before launch to reserve it.

As a BfA fan it makes me sad that this is behind a paywall.

Nope, that’s not the point. The names have been taken due to this s.show - since some people were able to log in even though we were online 18:00 CET and not able to get onto the rulesets. Many people have paid for this service and the audacity of stating “you have plenty of time before launch to reserve it” is blatantly non-chalant.

While at the same time, launching a paid product breaking the housing promise is just classic 2026 Blizzard. And you probably work there as well.

This is fifth addition to the store this month alone.

This free to play game?

yeah melk the people, which still think that housing is a great feature and not only a money printing machine.

Personaly I am more annoyed to get in every raid, mplus or delve or smth I do in the game I get bombarded with this trash housing decor.

Not costumiseable and the tentacles ruin the piano, no reason to buy low quality stuff from the shop - then I’ll just keep kitbashing and do it better myself.

I don’t normally jump on the negativity bandwagon, but come on…
Kul Tiran stuff should be earnable ingame and they’re really going overboard with shop stuff. :downcast_face_with_sweat:

I’m feeling the same. Yes it’s not like we have to buy it, but it is really starting to feel excessive at this point.

Ahem, me earlier this year:

And prior to that during Dragonflight I already told people that the shop WILL be expanded once Microsoft takes over Blizzard. Why? Because I have seen it before.

That time has come now. Only a shame it comes so unearned while the game quality suffers.

Not to rain on your parade, but we already had this epiphany back in 2010 when Blizzard introduced the Celestial Steed to the Online Store. That was the beginning and everyone with a functioning brain knew that there wouldn’t be any breaks on that train – and there hasn’t been. It just gains speed. Now we’ve been going for 16 years and lo and behold, the monetization still keeps gaining speed. It’s nothing new, but it is certainly quaint to note once in a while that WoW still gets increasingly more monetized. And I’m sure we can note that again in a year, two years, five years, sixteen years.

So housing was tied to Midnight expansion and now all the good stuff is on shop.

I wonder what will they cook up for Xmass shop bundle. :frowning:

I love housing, it’s driven my end-game content loop, these things are gorgeous - I’m not paying for them.

If these were in the game and craftable or purchasable with war resources or community coupons the applause would be deafening. Instead, corporate greed has stripped any joy out of something the 3D artists clearly put a lot of effort into.
