6g for finishing an Adamant Vault?

Really? I spent 20-30 min trying to speedrun a 5/5 run just for 6 gold?
Time to give us appropriate rewards for our times spent blizzard…

Yeah what even is this? done 4 of them and had nothing, got a friend doing his 6th now with 0 rewards? This is getting really tedious with trying to slow us down as much as possible.

You do get a bit more tower knowledge if you complete the Adamant Vaults, which is clearly supposed to be the main reward from doing it, not the 6g.

But I agree the rewards could be a lot more for this, especially as it appears to be designed with the intention of being slightly harder than the normal wings of Torghast, but mostly because it took a 5 gem run to get to the Vaults. I also wish it lasted longer, takes long enough to get there and then because it’s only 2 floors its just over instantly. Boss fight could be a bit harder too imo.

To balance it out, and to just give some feedback on this wing, on the plus side I love the aesthetics, the fact they made some genuinely unique traps and dangerous machine-things, and that it feels a bit like a reward in and of itself as it took time to earn the access to this place from the tower knowledge needed and the 5-gem requirement.

One thing that can’t really be changed but that I’d question in future is their choice of naming. “Adamant” doesn’t appear to have any lore relevance to this place at all, if it does then its very unclear and not explained to the player. Adamant is supposed to be something similar to diamond in common fantasy worlds, its there in Runescape, its in Lord of the Rings. While it is there as Adamantite as an ore found in Outland, what does this have to do with the machine of death and the Jailer and Torghast? Bad choice of name.

What might make more sense is to call it something like these suggestions depending on the lore of the place, the Anima Vaults, Stygia Vaults, Soul Vaults, etc loads of much more sensible suggestions.

While that is indeed true, i dont know your native language but Adamant in English can also mean ‘Stubborn’ so it could mean refusal to give in…

Edit - and cue someone to correct me coz i could be wrong

No you are correct in that there is this other meaning to the term, but to me it seems that both meanings don’t result in a clear name. If it was the stubborn meaning, the name would be claiming that the vaults themselves are stubborn or filled with conviction in some way, or is it saying that the player is stubborn for having made it so far? feasible, but its not the name I’d pick, though I grant there is an element of subjectivity to it hehe.

If it was me making the place, it would start off with some sort of lore explaining what the place is. Perhaps the Jailer keeps various pieces of extremely rare/dangerous weaponry hidden in these vaults. Now as the weapons would probably be made of the same stuff that the Obleron armaments that you find elsewhere in Torghast are (The interactable items that give you a buff), you could use this to call the place the Obleron Vaults, and because people already have some familiarity with Obleron Armaments and the anima powers too (for example Obleron Winds, which gives you 3% haste in Torghast) it’d make more sense to players.

If instead the vaults contained say, huge quantities of anima taken from all the tormented souls in Torghast, stored away for future use as maybe the Jailer’s backup stash, the name Anima Vaults would make sense, as everybody already knows what Anima is, so they can understand the significance of the place and are motivated to go there and beat it.

Anyway I’m sorta rambling over a small detail it’s true, but I just find it interesting to brainstorm these ideas, what would you guys change about the place?

You did 4 runs? I got 10g from my first adamant run and just skip this garbage for good now. Not sure what they were thinking

I think it may drop sockets or conduit upgrade items, but have no idea about the drop rate. Its main use seems to be cosmetics and knowledge.

Meanwhile on my Vulpera I got just over 35g for doing this simple levelling quest :sunglasses:
