Is there no love for hippogryphs left out there?
Let me remind you that 5 months ago, with the launch of patch 8.0 all hippogryph mounts have gotten their sounds suspiciously changed and replaced with those of the pandaren phoenixes.
Now we never really found out if that was an intended change or a bug, but surely a lot of people didn’t like this change and addressed it on forums as well as submitting bug reports etc. and I’m just extremely disappointed to find out that this has yet not been fixed even with the freshly launched patch 8.1
It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see the iconic hippogryph sound that we loved and adored all the way back since Warcraft III go like this and it is just plain insulting to be replaced with something that not only doesn’t even slightly resemble the original sound, but also feels completely wrong and even irritating!
A change of any sort would be greatly appreciated!

As NE enthusiast, this change upset me, more so that there is no logical reason why to do it.
I really don’t know why are things like this even changed, when there is no problem or complaints

Seems odd to change sounds unless there was a reason, and I can’t really imagine what reason there would be.

Tbh I’ve thought that it was a bug when I first heard that.
Maybe it is not intentional? I don’t know if someone addressed it or not, it might be just a mistake.
I’ve been reporting it as a bug when I first noticed it in the 8.0 PTR.
It honestly feels like a bug to me… Like there’s the Flameward Hippogryph for example, which got it’s sounds changed like the rest of the hippogryphs, but still has the original sounds left on it’s /mountspecial? How sloppy is that? It doesn’t make any sense for this to be an intended change and have such mismatches.
In either way - bring old sounds back!

Hope it will be finally fixed in 8.1.5, but so much time it remains unchanged that im losing hope.

Strange that this hasn’t been addressed.
I didn’t notice a difference. Maybe I forgot the old sound?
Really? I find the new one pretty bad and absolutely unnecessary change. Sorry, I just do not understand it
This has to be the single worst thing about the game designers. Be it a month old piece of content or 10 years old, they like to randomly break things that didn’t even need messing with.
Stop doing this crap.

OK so I logged in and tried.
I loved my Flameward Hippogryph when I got it in Cata. Then the changed the sounds in Mists so that it sounded like it had coffee cans taped to its wings, or was wheezing for breath, and I couldn’t use hippogryphs any more.
Now the coffee cans are still there, softened maybe?
That mount would do very well for my Fire Mage, but I can’t use it when it feels like I’m killing it. I want the original sounds it had when introduced in Cata.

8.1.5 has arrived and yet no changes. My disappointment is immeasurable.
