8.1 Issue - Night Elf Glaive is DH only.

Bump!
Blizzard. What were you thinking?
$$$$

Probably.
Still supporting that, either to put that weapon as a sword or to make warglaives wieldables by more.
Odd... I don't think they should make glaives available to other classes but why didn't they make it a sword and restrict it to NE warrior, rogue, dh and hunter (and dk)? That way you get the "sentinel" and warglaive classes but without restricting them to only one class. Besides, that glaive have hard competition to warglaive of azzinoth for dh transmog.

Kaldorei and Troll have been wielding Glaives for longer then Demon Hunters were planned as a class, so get back in line!

If anything glaives should've been a weapontype available since vanilla... Or just have been a subsection of Swords, really.

Would be interesting if they made a questline to unlock Warglaives for Sword-wielding classess! Perhaps something akin to the Warlock felfire questline! :o

Well any other race than Night Elf, especially Troll, would look dumb in a NE warglaive. And the problem with unlocking the weapon type to more classes is that they would look dumb in DH glaive transmog. That three-edged glaive would fit better on a "Sentinel-class" than a DH though, and that's why I think it should be a sword weapon type instead and restricted to Night Elves.

Jokes on you, almost every class in game can wield swords!

Trolls and elves of all kinds have a long history (both in lore and out of) of wielding warglaives.

BfA introduced a lot of non-DH specific warglaive appearances (in fact all warglaive appearances introduced in BfA are non-DH specific, some are indeed troll specific), so it only makes sense to expand the usage of the warglaive weapontype to more classes (perhaps the ones who can already wield the Warglaives of Azzinoth).

This would be entirely irrelevant given that the vast vast majority of warglaive appearances are already DH specific, being either unlocked in the DH starting experience or being locked to certain specs qua being artifacts (with the exception of like 1 warglaive appearance from the Legion pre-patch)

True, I didn't think of that. In that case, yeah, maybe they could unlock the weapon type to more classes but instead making more restrictions about apearances towards specific classes/races
Restricting a certain weapon to a single class is nonsense anyway.

If I wanna shoot a bow on my not-Hunter I should be able too, no matter if I have other attacks outside of the auto-attack.

If they made the loot system as it is today from the beginning maybe it would have been different, but there's a reason there was a mocking saying "it's a hunter weapon" because they could ninja a lot of weapons they didn't really need from other classes because they can equip almost every weapon type in game, but with the personal loot system fighting over weapons isn't necessary. If we're talking removal of restrictions though one could argue of just removing them altogether, making every class equip every armor type also.

Well, I wouldn't be against putting my hunter in leather, and giving a real armor to my battlemage, between us.

This should, however, be already in place - at least for transmog. It does not harm the class balance in any way and noone should be bothered how someone mogs their character.

If they wanted us to stick with a class fantasy, they should never allowed set looking items to be used by other classes as well in the first place.

It really irks me everytime Blizz talk about 'silhoutte' for classes.

That is something you do not have, because your player armour design is very, very weak!!

The majority of non-plate sets, especially Leather and Mail, look NOTHING like either of those things. Cloth sets only get away with it a little thanks to Robes.
They got rid from the silhoutte nonsense for orcs too!

Exactly! And honestly, with all of the appearance altering toys, consumables and tier off-sets available, you can look like anything. This is a typical "but-we-had-this-in-place-for-15-years-and-it-worked" Blizz answer to things that have no reason to exist with their current tech, possibilities and community demand.

Edit: And especially now when they are moving from class based sets to content based, you can barely tell a priest from mage or rogue from monk. The current mog restrictions are just stupid.

Honestly, this irks me alot, especially regarding Kaldorei, but it counts for every race. Highborne are so thematically different from Moon-Priestessess they shouldn't even think about wearing the same thing, yet here we are and every cloth and leather set is Druidic-themed instead of including the different aspects of Kaldorei-society.(Not saying I do not like the new sets, I think they look awesome, nonetheless!)

Atleast the Plate sets look thematically different then the Mail, Leather and Cloth ones, but thats about it.

Anyhows, I am all for loosening the transmogrification restrictions, but I still think that cloth wearers should only be wearing cloth, etc... Just loose the class restrictions...

Considering we have heritage sets that defy armor type restrictions and Blizzard put a priest (Anduin) in full plate wielding a sword, yeah, get rid of these ridiculous restrictions.
