Hey guys and girls, it has just been told that vengeance Will be buffed in 8.2, what do you Think they’ll change? Let’s get a discussion going!
Ups wrong character
we alrdy know what theyre gonna change and the answer is “not much”
-
Vengeance
-
Demonic Wards: damage reduction increased to 15% (was 10%).
-
Demonic Wards: armor bonus increased to 100% (was 80%).
-
Demon Spikes]: armor reduced to 60% of Agility (was 85%).
-
Developers’ notes: More than other tanks, Vengeance is currently dealing with the problem of low mitigation when their active mitigation is down. These changes are a substantial increase to physical mitigation when Demon Spikes is down, and a neutral-to-very-slight increase when Demon Spikes is active. There is also some overall passive reduction to magic damage. Overall, Vengeance’s sustained damage taken will be lower, and the periods of vulnerability outside of Demon Spikes should be less dramatic.

Seems like a step to right direction but this won’t be enough and will not change meta in any way. Unless some further tuning or dungeon revamp. It is early to judge at this point. We don’t know anything about new seasonal affix and the new raid.
The change I would like to see is making fracture and spirit bomb baseline and adding new talents to talent tree instead of them. The problem with vengeance is the lack of mitigation and buttons. We also have talents in talent tree that are mandatory, which sucks. It takes diversity and fun, when only one talent in row is viable.
My idea would hopefuly help these problems. But I don’t see any big changes coming untill 9.0.
As a healer i think it looks good from the defensive POV. Because there’s nothing worse then healing a JoJo healthbar. However As I see it, Vengeance need alot of talent reworks and number adjustments and perhaps even another active migtation option.
Yeah, our talents need a rework. The number tweaks are welcome, but why is Blizzard so damn slow at addressing these class balance issues? Fixing the numbers could have been done months ago with a hot-fix. Do they only have 1 game designer left on the team or something?
Well, probably if it were just number issues, it wouldn’t take at least a patch to rework it. I mean, take 8.0 shamans for example.
Still not worth be a vengeance.
My theory is 70% of the team are working on 9.0 continuing the pattern of good then bad then good expansion. Anyway they added made changes to meta but they don’t seem well thought through: During meta xtra hp which will be bad on grevious weeks and sheer giving an extra soul shard which gives a fracture headache.
Fracture gives also extra soul. Info from mmo champion. So during Meta shear gives 2 soul fragments and fracture gives 3.
And they buffed Meta to +50% hp from +30%. So all together make a good synergy with
Vision of Perfection
Major Power : Your spells and abilities have a chance to activate Metamorphosis for 50% of its base duration. When the Vision of Perfection activates, the cooldown of Metamorphosis is reduced by 10 sec.
Minor Power : Reduces the cooldown of Metamorphosis by 10% and increases your Versatility by 85. When you activate Metamorphosis, immediately heal for 5% of maximum health.
My theories acctually that much of the stuff we acctually will see in 8.2 they already started working on back in Beta. Then I mean the whole redesigning of the azerite necklace etc. Which means that any adjustments they will do now for example a talent change, will have to spin all the way down to 8.3-8.4
This is probably also the reason as to why we see “delays” in patch releases since even if a change is seemingly easy to just “plop” into the retail game. A seemingly smal alteration changes the parameters and algorithms later on in the pre planned development cycle.
A change to a talent or core system will cause ripple effects, let’s take the 2nd class azerite ring as a example; First the change have to be developed and communicated to other developers on all the teams who are affected. Encounter designers need to rethink/retune encounters to reflect the new estimated power levels, both in content already present conten and any future encounters/events etc.
It’s simply put less about “the strings of code” and more about making sure that the strings of code are taken into account on all levels of development which usually takes way more time then simply writing the code into the game.
Well but in my opinion, changing numbers for vengeance, to be equall to other tanks is something that wouldn’t affect all development wings that much. This PTR change should have come sooner.
Talent tree should come with 7.2, because vengeance sucked during whole BfA (even beta) and with new season 3, it shouldn’t be a problem to keep that in mind and adjust all game aspects for the buff (talent tree). There are many underperforming specs, so vengeance wouldn’t be the only one…
It’s definitely not easy to balance the core class skills, specializations, talents, azerite armor traits, and the upcoming azerite necklace traits for open-world quests, dungeons, raids, open-world PvP, battlegrounds, and arenas for all class specializations.
Honestly though, I think Blizzard keep shooting themselves in the knee with all of these additional game systems. If they would just focus on core skills, specializations, and talents and dump the expansion-pack-specific stuff like Legion artifacts and BfA azerite armor and necklace traits, they would be able to create much better class balance. I’m sure players expect new talents, spells, skills, etc. with every expansion, but I don’t think the temporary, expansion-pack-limited stuff is the way to go; it screws up the class balance for many months, and once the systems get balanced well and players get used to them, they get replaced again when the next expansion comes out.
