8.2 Enhancement Goals

It would be very nice if BLizzard implemented us a buff in Totemic way for example: -LVL 80 passive “Totemic Presence”-:

  • Stormstrike has 8% chance to summon windfurry totem which doubles windfury chance. -Implemented by Azerite trait in 8.1.5.
    .
  • Firebrand attacks have 3% chance to refresh Firebrand duration and spawn Fire totem that reduces Lava Lash cost by 60%. Totem last 7 seconds.
    .
  • Frostbrand attacks have 3% chance to refresh Frostbrand duration and spawn Water totem that heals the Shaman for 3% hp every second. Lasts 5 seconds.
    .
  • Rockbitter has 20% chance to spawn Earth Totem that reduces damage taken by 15%. Lasts 5 seconds.
    .
  • Procs from both Maind hand and OFF hand attacks. Proc rate affectes by mastery at same rate as Windfury / Stormbringer are.
    .
  • only one totem of each type can be alive at the moment. Procing new totem replaces the old one from the same type. Totems are placed 3 yards around the Shaman and have 15 yards range.

This would make Shamans feel like totem warriors where totems would pop around them fighting providing buffs and effects that would support them. And it would look beyond badass and it is a utility buff. Not a damage buff. So Blizzard breathe please.

Also add:

  • Shamanistic Rage:
    -1minute CD
    -Reduces all damage taken by 30% for 15 sec. This spell is usable while stunned.
    .
    We need 1 additional defensive spell at the very least.
    .
  • HEX -Consume 40 maelstrom to make hex instant cast. Lasts 5 seconds.
    .
  • Astral Shift recovers 40% hp over duration.
    .
  • Forcefull Winds (talent) -reduce max stack to 3 (was 5) windfurry procs now refresh the 15 seconds duration.
    .
  • Static Link (pvp talent) REWOKED:
    After stormstriking an enemy twice you form a static link between you two, increasing your movement speed by 15%. If target moves more than 15yards link breaks rooting your target for 1 second.
    .
  • Elemental Blast:
    -20 Maelstrom Cost
    -30 sec CD
    -Slash the target with elemental force that does (50% attack power) firefrost damage and imbues your weapon with Firebrand and Frostbrand. Stuns for 1 second.
    .
    This would make us usefull in PvP and give our class its class fantasy of a totemic warrior who calls upon elements and imbued totems to aid him in middle of fight and Enhances himself. Firebrand and Frostbrand would be a more significant spells than a forced fillers and would refresh themselves if we stay on the target. Paired with elemental blast we could start the fight with Rockbitter >Eleblast and have our buffs already rolling.
    Or even use Eleblast >CCTotem to set it up easier. Synergies are wast.

Don’t reaaally like this. Too much RnG, they can buff our survivability in other ways. I’d like to see a return to Shamanistic Rage (20% dmg reduction, restores mana equal to damage taken, usable while stunned, 10 second duration and 1 min cd), Earth Shield baseline, Nature’s Guardian baseline, Swelling Waves instead of Earth Shield in PVE talents and a 20% buff to Healing Surge.

The reason I want them to buff Healing Surge that much is because we have to preserve mana to Purge aswell, we can’t just use all our mana on Flash of Light like Retribution Paladins can. Purge costs mana too.

Hmm. I kind of like it, but I also don’t 100%. Maybe 10% dmg reduction, but applies to our teammates aswell?

Bad design imo. I don’t like this at all.

Too OP. Make it 4 seconds maximum, but also free of maelstrom cost. A setup shouldn’t cost resources, burst should. Also, this could replace cap totem talent.

I’m scared about this, might be a bit too OP. Would rather have something in the lines of “Astral Shift now causes your next Healing Surge to be completely free and instant, aswell as increasing the healing of it by 200%” Pair that with the Healing Surge buff I talked about earlier + Swelling Waves = goooooood healing.

Yes, I do like this. However, I would like to see a 25% damage buff to baseline Windfury. And instead of 80% dmg increase, 100%.

Yeah I like it, maybe make it so the root doesn’t DR with other roots.

Idk… I like it, but also not really. I would rather have a “Unleash Elements” PVP/PVE talent, which replaces and buffs the damage of Flame Tounge and Hailstorm by 20% (Hailstorm gets removed and baked into this talent) aswell as making them a 1 button ability. 20 maelstorm.

How about a PVP talent that makes Cap totem instant, or perhaps…“Boulder Toss” talent in place of Hailstorm
“Hurl an earthen boulder at your target which crashes upon impact, stunning them for 4 seconds” 45 Second CD, single target stun.

Also. Please. 2 minute CD on Ascendance instead of 3 minutes.

Since Totemic Presence is afffected by Mastery. You it would be increased to 10-12%

Same as above it would be around 5% with mastery. Yeah could be 50% or even instead:
-Increase attack speed of Shaman by 15%

If it procs twice its esentially a 30% hp heal over a longer PvP.
And of course this is a slight passive survivabilitu that wouldnt make us OP but just stack together with Shamanistic rage and Astral Shift to make our damage intake more linear than spikey.
Natures guardian SHOULD be baseline.
I would avoid buffing healing surge as Blizz doesnt want us to have strong oiff healing that we can “toss to other people” in pvp or raid. So this i tought this would make our sustain better while moving us away a bit from wasting multiple GCDs and maelstrom on casting low weak heals mid-fight and spend more time doing something else. Healing surge would be there when you hex someone or you are kiting around pillar , after encounter etc…

Blizzard avoids strongly any kind of “teambuffs” most classes got their buffs removed. And other people would prob QQ that Shammy is a “must” for that aoe dmg reduction cough…pallies…cough*
Staying only for us is best i believe.

It would be OP if those effects stacked. And this is ment to resummon totems near you as you fight someone. Imagine being kited. You would constantly leave your totems behind. So procing new one would re-summon it near you again.
And also it makes only 3/4 totems to be present at a time for each Enh which is a QOL feature in BGs where if it worked in other way, you would see fields of totems all around creates by multiple shamans. :stuck_out_tongue:

4 seconds is allright TBH. But it should have SOME cost. As we would have in this scenario good toolkit:
ShamyRage, AstralSpirit, Eleblast stun, and Sunder.

This would again force us to use healing surges on top of Astral Shift while bein under pressure. I think that built in healing works better to give us more DPS time to fight back when we are under pressure of other classes offensives. It saves us a GCD and gives same effect.
Also compared to:
DH- Blur: (one of their 5 defensives)
-1 min cd
-50% dmg reduction
-50% EVASION
-10 sec duration
So esentially they block half and AVOID half of the damage.
For 1.5 min cd (50% longer than blur) Astral Shift blocks 40% and heals 40%.
It is almost the same. And it is easier to balance the spell alone than when other spell is dependant on it. Less QQ from rest 78.5% players.

-Instant CAP totem talent would be OK but to increase CD to 1.5 minutes. As that would be on Par with DH’s aoe stun.
-I think ranged 4 sec stun would be OP we are not warriors and we got Hex instead that would be Instacast here. Paired with rest of the improved kit would be enough.
-Ascendance 2 min cd would be okay i guess… maybe bit on stronger side with this toolkit… not sure.

Anyway some change IS in need and I think this is a solid direction. One of them actually. Ive seen a lot of good suggestions from many people.

Then reduce the healing off it on allies, but keep the buffs to shamans. And really, there won’t be that many gcds to cast in order to heal yourself. All classes who have heals have to waste 2-3 gcds to heal yourself a bit. Maelstrom isn’t a big problem anyways.

Nah, another spec that also has this feature is BM, 10% isn’t really gonna save you, but is gonna smooth out the damage you take in the long run (we are talking dampening games). I don’t think anyone would cry really.

It would f*ck the whole rotation. Imagine you are bursting someone an whoops you get rockbiter totem, next second lava lash totem, you spend oh sh1t no maelstrom, better press one rockbiter WHOOOOPS LMAO rockbiter one again. I don’t like it. There has to be something better than this.

Yes, but only 1. I think my version is better, its a fairly large instant heal, instead of little healing over time which might not always save you. This would save you a lot more often.

Yeah but demon hunters are supposed to be a fairly tanky class, enhancement isn’t supposed to be tanky really. We are supposed to have high burst damage, and be very disruptive against casters for example (high burst, high utility, not a lot of survivability).

I think the CD can be 1 minute, leg sweep has same effect but has a cd of 45 seconds I believe.

This was a suggestion that was supposed to be competitive with instant cap totem. I still like it a lot, and I don’t think this would be op at all, make it a 15 yard range spell. After all, we are the masters of elements. I just want this because of the hurl boulder part. I would LOVE to see the animation x)

One thing I forgot to add in my previous post, I would like Feral Lunge to be baseline aswell (the charge).

But I do agree with you, something has to change. I like some of your ideas, but not exactly all of them.

Lol I must’ve been drunk when I wrote this. OFC Enhance wont see any buffs ever. Not thist kind or any kind of buffs. We are brainstorming for nothing to be honest. And the moment it does it will get nerfed to the ground in a week. Because Blizzard guards Druids/Mages/Warriors/Paladins and thats it. Most classes get buffs for WHOLE EXPANSIONS before they get nerfed and most NEVER DO. They let people engage the spec properly and accomodate to it. But when its Enhancement ??? Than the nerfs are relased FASTER THAN WOW-SHOP HOTFIXES!!
Classes I mentioned above, that is what we all should play. Or just find another game for PvP. Its not like Blizzard reads or cares about anything on EU forums or players from EU tbh.
I quited enhance and it was the best thing Ive done since vanila. I should stop even thinking about it. Tho I am glad that there are people out there that still care about the class.

It’s not like those classes are good either, sure, some of them have insane burst, but they all lack most departments. The state of all classes have never been worse. Bfa have taken a sh1t on every class. Blizzard knows this, and have admitted they failed with classes. I still have faith.

Faith for other classes perhaps. Enhancement ? No. Mark my words:

  • 1.) Blizzard will never adress Enhancements problem and balance it to be on par with other classes.
    .

  • 2.) Even if we get ANY boost it will be gone before you manage to update your game to new patch. Let alone test it…

  • 3.) Even if Blizzard staff gets replaced with competent people to design classes and game for them, since this ones are incapable and incompetent for anything.
    Community will CRY SO MUCH because 80% of them are low pvp scrubs who are barely 1300 rating and they are used to “Train the Shaman” and there are 50x (fifty times) more players of other classes than there are ENHA mains. So when a more skilled player beats low skilled player. It is not a skill issue it will be: “Nerf Shaman” issue.
    Like defense stacked Ghost Wolf build cannot be countered by huge majority of people. While other 20% have no problems with it and can purge it, can stun when they are out of form rather wasting CC in wolf form Shammies who cant do anything WHILE in the form.

You misunderstood me. You can have only ONE of EACH TYPE at the moment. So one Fire, One water, One earth, one Windfuy CAN be present AT SAME TIME. You CAN have all 4 types at same time, but you cannot have two of the SAME type. You wont summon two earth totems with Rockbitter. You will re-summon old Earth totem near you. Idea is that you can proc all 4 totems to be active but you cannot proc multiple totems of same element. You can’t proc 3 water totems, you will re-fresh / re-summon old one. So while fightinf you will almost always have all four totems present at the same time.

Ride the lightning is the perk for enhance through the heart of azeroth thats going to significantly boost aoe dps

We dont need aoe dps or dps in general. We need QOL changes to rotation:
Rockbitter >Flametongue > Frostbrand
It needs one step removed. Or duration of those buffs increased to 1 minute lol.
And 2/3 additional defensive spells
Aaand Hex instacast
Aaaaand 1/2 CC spells. Stun/root/ mainly.
Buuut why do I care ? I am Rogue/Retpala player now. God what an improvement over En-crap-ment shaman.

Hm make that cyclone talent baseline, put a spell reflect on it remove the malestrum constant cost and have it fixed at 50 or something and make it push back melee constantly so they cant get close to hit you.

Keeps the flavour of the class and while you may not be able to unload on them you can attack from range or cast a cc. Also counters cloak of shadows as they couldnt get close.

Add “earth prison” instant 0 malestrum cost with a dunno 1.5min cd? Make it work like the monks cc they have but animaton of earth and a prison like thing. Also gives you another cc for mythic then too.

Ligtning translocation.
Place a lightning rod at your location.
Cast again to return to said rod.
In a straight line there is a lightning bolt symbolising your instant transportation if any enemy is inside the ligtning line (animation) they are stuned for X time.
