[8.2] Mythic Jaina Encounter Potential Bugs

Firstly Blues,

My apologies for potentially posting in the wrong forum here, but since the EU doesn’t have a bug section and I don’t have a US-Realm level 10 character, I can’t post in their forums. So, here we are!

On to it…
Jaina in 8.1, I think worked as everyone expected:

  • Ballistas when frozen were given the visual of being frozen - Icy, blue, and killable with nameplates to go with.
  • In phase 1, a number of possible combinations that abilities could potentially be telegraphed to - Avalanches > 5 Player stack > Ring of Ice > … etc

Since 8.2, my guild and I’m sure many others have experienced a bug where the ballista’s aren’t appearing as being frozen (Icy & blue), but the nameplate is available so that they may be targetted and take damage.
This is a minor inconvenience but one that requires extra attention to be paid to a mechanic that is very dangerous if left alone for too long (build-up of fire due to boats being present for longer durations).

Secondly, it now appears that the 1st phase is perhaps telegraphed and less random than before, however, the combination of abilities and order that they arrive in is one of the worst (of those previously available prior to 8.2).
We are often finding ourselves, dealing with avalanches as gathering storm is incoming, boats are arriving at the same time, and then we get pushed out to the edge with the ring of ice almost immediately, causing a scattering of players.

Don’t get me wrong, we can overcome this, we can learn the fight with this combination of abilities, but it’s not great having to do so because new content was released when were pushing for CE.

Some clarification on the above would be great. Is this going to stay or be reverted?

Cheers

Hey Twodayraider,

Thank you for the detailed report. Please note that this is not the right place to report bugs though, post any bugs you find through the in-game Help menu.

From the Game Menu, click Help and Submit Bug. Follow the guide lines listed, to write up your bug report in details and help out the teams investigating your bug.

Feel free to summarize the report in-game and link to your forum thread here though.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

Thank you for the standard basic response, failing to even acknowledge the fact that I’ve mentioned this in my above post.

I would send an in-game report if I had access to the game right now, unfortunately, I don’t. However, I will do this when I’m home and on my computer.

The issue with in-game reports is that they don’t gain traction, nor can you track their progress. This isn’t rewarding by any means and the reason I posted here, is because I wrongly assumed that a well-detailed report would be received in a better manner and possibly deserve a response of better substance than the crtl-v function.

Why is it we don’t have bug report forums here in the EU? It seems absurd that (potentially/approximately) half the player base is excluded from this?

Thanks

We do indeed not have a Bug reporting section on our forum here no, to avoid segregation of reports between regions. This is why I asked you to submit this as a bug in-game instead.

You are not completely wrong there, as you do not have a way to track the progress of a reported bug. All bugs reported in-game are sent to the QA teams directly to investigate and fix where possible. Most of the issues that are fixed (not all documented, but many can be found in the hotfix posts) come from these in-game bug reports.
