8.3.7 broken raw mouse input (sticky camera pan while moving)

I tried all of those, didn’t help me. It was first when i deleted the config file everything got fixed on my end. It might work for other people as well.

Doesn’t work and just creates more problems. Getting quite bored of this troubleshooting reply considering it’s happened so many times! You’re fully aware it’s due to a change you made in the patch on reset day and since then my cursor is jumping to the centre of my screen, randomly moving whilst trying to heal with mouse over macros and on top of that I have a load of random disconnects.

Please fix it. It makes gameplay a complete chore!

Hey, after today’s patch I’ve experienced an issue that makes my cursor get stuck/rubber-banded into a location in the screen after I double click quickly. I was able to locate the problem to these 4 inner rectangles.

Edit: Seems to happen with single clicks also as I try to move my cursor right after clicking.

I am also having the same issue, however I am experiencing it outside the area shown. This is definitely a different issue to the camera problem that others are having. It is not solved with the command being shared around.

At first I thought it was my mouse finally dying and bought a new one (oh well, needed a new one anyway). However I noticed the problem didn’t occur outside of WoW, Overwatch and other games are completely normal.

There are a lot of video and gif examples of the stuttering or sticky cursor behaviour on the US forums. I’ve submitted a bug report in game. Hopefully that is enough to get the issue fixed soon.

Yes, there are two new issues.

1 - If you were previously using the rawMouseEnable setting:
Upon logging into 8.3.7, moving your mouse pointer while moving your character automatically pans the camera (as if left mouse is permanently held down). The fix is to disable raw mouse mode. ( /console rawMouseEnable 0 )

2- Regardless of the issue above the mouse pointer is not updating correctly when you click or hover over interactive objects. NPC’s, mailboxes and so on. This causes the mouse pointer to get ‘stuck’ to objects until you move the pointer in a completely different direction.

They added my issue to this post. Even though my post speaks of a completely different issue to the camera pan. Blizzard please…

Ilookfly I got the same bug as you. Enabling or disabling rawMouse doesnt change a thing for me. Cannot describe how annoying this is for a healer using healbot. My performance on Nzoth yesterday - like I was drunk.

Edit: Deleting config file as someone suggested doesnt help either. Occasionally when I use left click and try to drag pointer down, it starts to stutter until I change the direction for a bit and try again.

Yup.

It’s super bad when you’re targeting something midfield on the center of your screen.

Then right after, you need to move the cursor over the raid frames to heal somebody.
So you do that. Physically moved the mouse. Then click the healing spell on the keyboard. And at that point, realize that you just either hit the mob, hit someone else in the middle of the screen(mouseover macroes) or did nothing at all. Because the bloody cursor is still in the middle of the screen instead of over the player you intended to target on the raid frames.

TBH I would love a blue post saying that they acknowledged this bug with pointer despite it being completely different to what initial topic describes. It would be nice to know that they are aware and working on it, since them merging what seems to be two different issues under the same topic isnt very assuring…

This is really pissing me off.

Yesterday I thought my mouse had sensor issues but obviously it’s on Blizz’s end.

So annoying.

I also got the sticky MOUSE (not camera) problem with NPCs and loots, etc. Pretty annoying. I typed /console rawMouseEnable 0 but it doesn’t fix anything.

EDIT: Just so you know, I also reinstalled the game, swap to default all options and also disabled and uninstalled all addons. But the problem still remains the same.

I just had to attempt the calligraphy Tortollan WQ six times because I use the mouse to steer and I was all over the place. The tiniest move of the mouse and the camera angle either changes drastically or not enough.

Edit: I’ve just noticed that all my custom Graphics and Advanced settings have reverted to default :frowning:

I updated my graphics driver a couple of days ago, I think it’s borked my game settings.

Final edit (I promise): When 8.1.5 or 8.2 (can’t remember which) came out, there was a fairly common stuttering / locking-up issue fixed by disabling Multisample Alpha Test in System > Advanced. I disabled it at the time and it fixed the problem. However, I’ve just checked and it had turned itself back on. I’ve disabled it again and panning is now much smoother.

Issue still going on, Is a lot of fun on Mythic N’zoth as a healer! Great work Blizzard! also love doing dungeons this week when I can’t heal cause my mouse is stuck inside a NPC or a PLAYER or a PORTAL ! Truly a great experience! Please post a fix or update fron PTR to LIVE as PTR works…

I was doing siege of niuzao dungeon where you should run around and click on the bombs and throw them, first i thought my mouse was about to get broken then i remember hearing someone in chat complaining about the mouse issue. Please fix it there is nothing more annoying then playing with a half broken mouse and that is what it feels like sometimes atm

Still happening! Raid in 30 mins and my cursor is rubber banding all the time when I try click anything. Revert the update if it has broken your game!

did they hotfix it right now? Had to update before playing

YES! Can confirm. Mouse doesn’t stick anymore.

Yep! It’s fixed.
