-we will see Necrolords warriors
-R Druid will be S or A tier (of course Necrolord not this NF meme)
-Venthyr BM Hunter might be a thing worth trying
-huge buff to necrolord specs survivability - Ele, Resto Shaman, R Druid
-we might see some NF Disc/H Priests
-more R Shamans might switch Night Fae
-Venthyr Arcane Mage might show up a bit more
Necrolord Warriors won’t be a thing until banner will stay on the warrior and not dropped on the ground with 15y range, sadly. Also 400 mastery is nothing compared to the utility of kyrian or the mobility venthyr provides.
Even ancient aftershock is more powerful than ~10% mastery every 3 minutes.
But for a first build of ptr its promising for sure.
Holy Shock costing 2% more mana and R Shaman Primordial Wave not applying Riptide?
Necrolords Warrior is less likely to die in stuns. The problem with Necrolords was that it didn’t grant much damage but provided with survivability. With 500 mastery it’s solid damage buff - similar to Pelagos Spear of Bastion.
Also you gain movement speed and your partners can’t be slower than walking speed.
We were finding rogues were killing 150 ilvl players too fast and have nerfed their damage by an extra 20% 30 seconds after they destealth - we believe these changes are in line with what the community wants.
Also warriors and hunters now have permanent sight - allowing them to spot stealthed rogues anywhere in Azeroth.
We hope the rogue community enjoys these changes, have fun Heroes!
The change to Banner might make Necrolords desirable in RBGs due to how good this ability will counter all kinds of slows. It’s basically an improved version of Death’s Advance active. Not sure about the arena though.
It’s actually surprising because when I started to read I was thinking “wow they realized some convenant spells don’t feel good and are trying to do something about it, since all four covenant spells for Rogue feel terrible maybe we get some change!”. And no.
Oh, I saw only this “Brandish the Conqueror’s Banner, granting 400 Mastery and 30% increased movement speed to you and your 2 nearest allies, and preventing movement speed from being reduced below 100%. Lasts 15 sec.”
in the article, thought nothing else changed
This is exactly what I was thinking too. I mean, does any other class have all four covenant spells being such utter trash that you are literally choosing based on the spell that every class has? The best is currently night fae because even if its dispelled, which it almost always is at some point, you gain more mastery than kyrian and you have better mobility. I guess kyrian vial vs NF soulshape is the actual question but yeah, the primary rogue ones all just suck.
Yeah… Sure… Except… Hpalas will be a thing of the past for most comps.
With the mana regen nerf and the increased holy shock cost, you’ll be looking at hpalas going oom in a pace possibly even similar to dpriests, when forced to hard cast on top of the many instants.
As things are now, the reduced mana regen only covers the holy shock and bestow faith, and nothing else. The other instants all burns the mana without any regen for it, unless you can find time to simply not cast anything for 5+ seconds.
With hard casting on top of it, it burns the mana even faster. So hpalas will only be able to play things where they only use instants.
Hpalas will only be able to do 2s with comps where they’re able to drink (say hello to more hpalas+mages), and 3s is simply a race for time, even more with the holy shock mana cost increase.
Btw keep in mind, these are PvE changes only. PvP changes will probably be sweeping across the board, I’ll bet.
Still think hpalas will be limited to only heavy CC comps though, for the sake of mana. Which is a really weird place for hpalas to be in, when they can’t even go with the meleecleaves, and only very few melee+wizard comps will be possible where a prerequisite will be that it needs a lot of CC to avoid a lot of the damage taken otherwise.
Ah well, unless prot pala is nerfed then prot will be the way to go to heal the meleecleaves I guess. By default.
I doubt warr+spriest will work with hpala anymore though, when they can’t even last 'til dampening once those changes goes live.
