9.2 patch notes, sockets and conduit upgrades?

Just read the patch notes for 9.2, and apart from the learn all conduits on 226, 239 and 278 there are no mentions of individual upgrades to max ilevel like we get from Korthia/Torghast now (and from Stygia pre 9.1).

Also no mention of being able to add sockets to season 3 gear.

So a couple of questions:

  • Is it intended that raid/m+ will be the only source of max level conduits? (apart from the reward from “finishing the game”)
  • Will we still be able to upgrade to 252 using research (and Torghast)
  • Will sockets be limited to those proccing randomly?

I’ll for sure miss having all those movement speed gems, and it will be a bit sad knowing I’ll probably not be able to upgrade my conduits any further than they are now.

On the other hand, 252 conduits are perfectly fine for me, and not having to farm currency to add sockets and upgrade conduits is sort of a good thing.

Hi,

I saw this in the patch notes, looks like you missed it: ‘‘All conduits are now spread across all Shadowlands dungeons’’

Essentially this is not good for PvPers (again), but if you will run M+, you will most likely get atleast 3-4 conduits at the end of a run since all of them will drop. I don’t know how it works in practice as I didn’t touch PTR, just assuming from the patch notes.

Oh, nono, I didn’t miss that, hence my question:

  • Is it intended that raid/m+ will be the only source of max level conduits?

I’m not even sure dungeons will give you 278 conduits? Isn’t the highest end-of-dungeon reward 265, and I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that a +15 dropped 265 conduits.

It almost seems like, at least for now, the 278 conduits is a reward to those who “complete the game” in Mythic+, Rated PvP or Raiding. Which I don’t really have a problem with, the difference isn’t that massive, would just be nice to know if this is actually the intention.

Yes I believe. Same as 9.1. / 9.2., the only exception being that we won’t have the Ve’nari / Korthia 1 252 conduit.

I would say no, it wouldn’t make sense since the req for the 278 upgrade is mythic keystone hero, which means you essentially need all dungeons on level 20 completed. M+15 and heroic raid will be 1 level lower (265 in that case, as M+15 now drops 239 conduits aswell as hc SOD), and mythic raid will give 278.

To be honest, I find this item the most needed for PvPers. The ones pushing high end M+ and mythic Sepulcher, will probably have all the conduits from the raid anyways. The PVP players are the one suffering, and since the requirement of being a gladiator got scrapped (i think it’s elite now, correct me if i’m wrong as I don’t pvp), I think that the target audidence are PVPers.

If it was up to me, I would change the requirement for the 278 full upgrade to be like this:

  • Heroic Sepulcher of the first ones full clear
  • Keystone master SL Season 3
  • Duelist (Pls correct me on this one, I don’t pvp and I have no clue, the one rank that essentially unlocks all the armor appearances, the 1850 rating or how much is it).

The conduits are nothing but a carrot on a stick while running on treadmill at this point in the expansion.

Considering how many people complained about being “forced” to grind korthia i’d say it’s for the best.

Probably.

So far yes but i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s added later just like the sockets sold for 1k cinders.

What I understand from this is basically pvp-ers being forced to run M+/Raid in order to get the conduits.

Blizzard hasn’t learned a damn thing.

Sounds pretty stupid to me

Queue the “lol conduits don’t matter” people

As usual, the patch would have been better off without adding conduits ranks.
