9.2.5 Daze chance

I might be going slightly loopy, but after debating over this since the patch launched, am i alone in noticing an absolutely huge increase to the daze chance that mobs have in this patch? It feels like blizzard have turned up the daze proc chance considerably to the point where I don’t go half an hour without a mob dazing me as i run past despite it being a frontal hit, sideways hit, rear hit, walking, mounted, in some cases flying and being dismounted off my flying mount because of it…

Any confirmation or discussion about whether this is the case or not would be appreciated because I feel like i’m going potty

they want u to waste gold on daze mount kit

Blizzard in centered about waisting your time in game, so you take longer to do stuff and buy more monthly subscriptions. Instead of trying to make a game good where people stay - they just add a lot of time wasting mechanics (daze is one of them).

Let’s say you get dismounted 5times/day and it takes 12s to fight a mob and re-mount again. So that is 1minute per day, which is 30mins/month (basically 1 dungeon run)

Or Oribos teleport to mount room - again most of the times you are ported to the far point from flight master. So not only you take couple secs to open map, but also ride to to Flight master (again 15s each time this happens, for me it’s like 10times a day, combined with new m+ portals). 2.5mins / day, which is 90mins / month).

This game is full of time wastes

I have used this for so long I forgot dazing is still in the game. No idea if they turned the chance up, but it seems like such a random and unnecessary thing to do. The druid poster who says it’s a deliberate timegate has lost their tinfoil hat, I think.

Usually on an alt the first time I get dazed I’m like ‘oh need barding’

The item for this costs very little these days, I got mine for less than half of what a table mission gives.

I had water walking kit but jist before few days I changed it to barding. I have noticed birds in ZM has 90%chance of dismount you while flying.

It’s 100% suspect.

I can’t even group mobs up to AOE them down now in any areas without getting dazed as i walk 10-20 yards to taunt / throw at more mobs. I feel like this has happened once or twice before but i never see much chatter about it.

And unfortunately, a barding won’t do jack against getting dazed whilst fighting / grouping up mobs.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t really been dazed on main this expansion - because of Fleshcraft.

I always used it in the Maw, Korthia or even ZM - till it lasts, no daze can affect you.

Otherwise? Use the barding as 2 posters above mentioned.

I haven’t personally noticed anything tbh.

But I’m always fascinated by the daze problem. Daze was a mechanic designed to keep players from exploring areas they weren’t strong enough for, so as to keep exploration a reward for character progression. It was designed to dismount you and then kill you, and the chance of it happening would increase or decrease based on your level relative to the mob that attacked you.

So when the whole progression system suddenly becomes laser-focused on the end-game with item level instead of level then this whole thing starts to break down because you’re going to be dazed by mobs that are trivial to you and you’re also not going to be dazed by mobs that are too hard.

Might be a good idea to fix that: Daze should be based on what item level the mob is tuned for.

The same should apply to aggro radius by the way. It’s exactly the same problem.

I think these days it’s more a mechanism to prevent us just running through add packs on our mount with complete impunity that to deter exploration.

That said having daze chance be reduced by block, parry and avoidance has a lot of merit.

I LOLD at the dude who make a conspiracy that blizz put daze to keep us play more. Seriously enjoy the game stop crying for every little thing ffs.

dd problems :scream:
