If ‘‘the ‘‘book’’ ends’’ it means there’s probably a timeskip,
So 10.0 most likely plays in a future thats either saved or post apocalyptic
WoW: Awakenings confirmed?

Some of the CC’s sources seem to be pointing toward a period of Horde rebuilding, whilst the Aliance faces a tumultuous period ridden with internal conflict. (Basically getting what Horde got to enjoy twice now)
In that regard having a time skip, which evolves the situation from the hooks we got before leaving could have promise. With us and basically all the peacemongers being gone, for at least 2 years it could ahve gone all sorts of places.
That’s quite a jump. Considering they retroactively tied the Jailer into everything that happened in Warcrtaft, dealing with him will obviously close that book. Of course they could do a time skip after that. Or they start the new book then and there. The phrasing is certainly no hint here.
The way I see it, 10.0 will probably have us deal with the aftermath of the Scourge invasion following our disappearance into Shadowlands, and trying to stabilise the world. No doubt there will be a new threat to contend with, which will either be from one of the remaining five forces of the universe, or be allied with one of them.
We still have Azshara to deal with, and it is likely she will be allied with the Void Lords or desire to claim their power, thus tying us into the Void lords saga. Then there is the matter of the Light and the potential for it to brainwash Turalyon and compel him to purge Azeroth of any impurities, thus tying us into the Light.
Either or even both of these is the most likely outcome in my opinion. It is likely that the so-called “sagas” of Warcraft will all be tied to the cosmic forces and the mysterious First Ones, and that the final saga will have us visit the actual realm where they come from. After all, Zereth Mortis is merely a factory they used to create worlds. The actual realm of the First Ones is still as mysterious as ever, and I sincerely doubt that Blizzard will let it remain a mystery forever.
Plot twist lore turned so meta realm of the first ones is blizzard hq…
