95% of all transmog gear looks like trash

For me the problem is less the item styling, and more that there are 27 shades of gold.

WoW transmogging could gain a lot by saying “there are 2 shades of gold, 2 of white, 2 of black, 2 red, 2 blue”… etc etc. At least this would mean that blue items had a 50% chance to match up with other blue items from different sets, instead of all being subtly different and not really matching with anything except their own.

The second problem is the lack of class sets since BfA. This has led to raid sets that look incredibly specific to the season. See Nyalotha gear - even though it is high poly and quite well done, how many times do you really want a squishy tentacular look for your character? I would guess not often - and yet there are numerous recolours available.

The return of class sets in DF is good, although they do look very… 10.0-y to me. I fear they won’t age well. Still, good start. Let’s see where we are by 10.3.
